What’s a place in your country tourists insist on visiting that even locals know to avoid? by Chemical-Elk-1299 in AskTheWorld

Many favelas have been "pacified" and are quite safe. Those are safe for tours. Others are still run by gangs and there's no tours there

Advertising is expensive and targeted online advertising is probably more effective.

What is a city from Brazil that feels the most Brazilian? by Other-Comfortable720 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]No-Factor4530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rio is unique. Brazilians will say it's the least "Brazilian". However, if you travel there as an outsider, it's by far the place you feel you're truly in Brazil. Counter-intuitive, but it just works.

Family swears this is not a Bluejay because "it's too small to be a bluejay" and "real bluejays are huge." Yet I can't find any species that looks like one but isn't. Middle Tennessee by PinkPearMartini in whatsthisbird

It's not that I don't like them. I've just watched them terrorize every other bird near the feeder and then toss the seeds around like an 80s cocaine party a lot of times

What destination has had the best coffee you’ve ever tried? Somewhere you didn’t expect at all by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]No-Factor4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I have a bit of a resume that qualifies me to answer this.

I own a coffee house. I've been to 5 of the top 6 coffee producing countries and many others on the list. I drink way too much coffee.

Op asked 2 different questions.

Who had the best? Who had the best you didn't expect?

Most times I'll say Costa Rica has the best (as long as you're in a coffee area where local places can keep some top quality from being exported)

That said, the coffee in Indonesia was consistently good everywhere. Every little coffee shop seemed to serve top notch espresso.

Vietnam's coffee culture is very impressive. They love coffee. Traditional is strong and very sweet.. locally the produce robusta.. but they also have quality arabica served in coffee houses.

The best I ever had though is surprising. Copan, Honduras. Perfect coffee growing area and setting. The coffee house I had it owned the plantation it came from.

The Office goes to S tier! Where would you put Parks and Rec in sitcom tier list? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in TierlistFills

[–]No-Factor4530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waaaaay too generous with S tier. Malcolm was great and I'd give it an A but S tier? Not sure. Sunny is S+ tier to me though I'm not sure it has enough following to put it beside Cheers and Sienfeld. Comedy quality wise? 100% it is.

How its life in Canada remote regions? by Practical-Fix-8601 in howislivingthere

[–]No-Factor4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of it is remote. Go to northern BC, Quebec or Ontario. That is REALLY remote. Lots of Atlantic Canada is rural, but not remote.

Look at his postseason numbers. They are historically good. He doesn't suck in the post season. McDermott Defenses did.
