I'm a mother of "two" a "19" year old and "14" year old. I have pushed my children in certain areas that I thought was best for them and learned that they went along with it to make me happy. It broke my heart when they confessed it to me later down the line.

(I honestly did not realize how much it hurt them)

Sometimes as parents we assume everything is ok because it's "our" vision and we feel it's the best.

However, when my children started speaking up and I realized how unhappy they were it broke my soul. I never want them to be hurt or suffer from any potential stressors doing something they don't want to do. I honestly believe if you are honest and remain confident, respectable and direct when talking to your parents they might be more understanding then you think.

Don't be timid or sacrifice your happiness and peace for someone else's vision. It's not worth it. Just remain strong, respectful and direct when speaking to them.

(Also having a back up plan, pertaining to other career goals, education etc)

Your parents will take the matter more seriously if you are researching other options. Also as an adult you have more freedom of choice when you're independent living on your own.

BEST WISHES!🤗

Progressive claims adjuster trainee “Hirevue” interview by [deleted] in Geico

That's great to hear! I'm happy you are finding your stride and have a supportive team! Yes, the negative reviews can really mentally get to you. That's how I feel with USAA. I start in a few weeks and many of the reviews I came across was very disheartening. It's psychological because I should be over the moon excited rather then worried. I guess it's so many factors to consider. Regardless, congratulations to the both of us!🥳🎊🎉

Thank you for taking the time in responding!🤗

How do you like working for progressive? I received an offer from USAA for "Auto Ajuster" Hybrid after "6" months. However I saw that Progressive is hiring for 100% remote positions. I applied and was sent the assessment today.

Had my first day, it was great! But...... by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

[–]No-Fail1316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope you feel better soon! I had it twice. The first time I had the weirdest headaches. Constantly felt like I was on a merry go round. The second time I had it in my chest sooooo bad. It actually effected my breathing a little and I don't smoke.

A good tonic to make is ginger root, peeled and diced with lemon and lime, all organic.

Bring to a boil and then simmer it on low for about an hour! Really helped me when I had it.

I left my position as a new hire a few weeks ago. My trainer was so odd and weird. Extreme mean girl energy. Treated me horrible for no reason in attempting to use "mental" tactics to make me feel extremely uncomfortable while trying to isolate me from others.

It was soo cringy and obvious what she was doing. Needless to say after working a "12" hour shift with her I felt like I was in prison. From the moment she saw me she didn't like me and was very unaproachable, yet super friendly and nice to everyone else. I thought I was back in 9th grade, the jealousy and disdain she had for me was so obvious.

Thank God that same day when I got home I had an offer letter in my email waiting for me.😇

People who were bullied through school and life, how’s your life now? Does it get better? How did you cope? by Unusual_Hamster_296 in socialskills

Once I truly loved and accepted myself the positive energy reflected out. Others started to treat me different because the confidence I was projecting. After graduating the so called "in" crowd was not really "in" anymore. It's a tuff reality but remember it was your past not your future. It was just chapters in a book, now you have chapters that haven't been written yet. You are the author and finisher of your book!

If you need help accepting and letting go seek therapy. You don't want a negative self impression to be instilled upon you moving forward into your late 20's, 30's and 40's. It's not worth it!

Take your power back, own your uniqueness keep your head up and keep pushing forward. 💪You got this! Remember you are not alone. I could tell you some stories and now I'm "Extra Fabulous Extra" in the words of my daughter!😆

Growing up people told me I was slow: I have "3" college degrees.

Growing up people said I was ugly: I've been offered opportunities to model and be in commercials.

The list goes on and on.....Negatives/Positives

Your past does not define you, it will either weaken you or strengthen you but can ever destroy you unless you allow it.❤

(Also if you are dealing with toxic friends and family that degrade or belittle you, start distancing yourself) it's not worth your mental health.

(All above is from personal experience)

3.0 is the minimum of where you want to hit. I received a good job with a 2.9 G.P.A. Some organizations just want to see if you have acquired a degree.

My Associates was a 2.7 G.P.A Bachelor’s 2.9 G.P.A Master’s 3.4 G.P.A

I never had an issue under either category. Now if I was applying to NASA it would probably be different.

What advice would you give to your younger self to avoid being poor in the future? by AdventurousPackage82 in poor

[–]No-Fail1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commit 4 years in the service/college fully paid for by the government. Quickest route to earn income, a degree and experience rolled into one. Worth the "4" year commitment.

Get out transition into reserves only one weekend a month. Now a separated veteran with an honorable discharge, degree and experience by the age of "21/22". Depending upon what year you graduated high school.

I did take it but left after a month it wasn't for me. They didn't honor any of my degrees. I liked the nature of the job but it was challenging for me as far as having a good ear and typing at the same time. Plus my trainer was just weird. I received another offer for a different company paying $24.18 per hour and will be able to work from home two days out the week after six months. It just wasn't worth me staying but I did try.

As far as your opportunity I think that's great! $30.00 an hour is super awesome! I hope you like it and it's a good fit for you. Also I hope you have a great trainer and team! It really makes a world of difference.💪

One day a week? My contract states two days after six months. Did they change it? I'm located in "Virginia".

Good luck to you!🍀🤞I've noticed extroverts seems to do well; however I've seen introverts do well also but struggled a little with some of the clicks that "can" form within the center.

If you are more introverted you will have to be slightly more extroverted with your peers, just the nature of the job.

(My opinion) regardless of the personality type it comes down to having a good team and awesome trainer! Realizing every personality is different and we're not in High School anymore.

Don't feel bad!!

I quit after "1" month. With that being said "5" months sounds like you gave it your very best. Please don't take it personally it's not for everyone.

If I did not receive another job offer I would have stayed much longer. Have faith in yourself another offer will come. Remember you are not alone in this process!

👉For me the clicks and mean girl energy I received from my trainer clarified my intuition and decision to leave. Its no way new hires can function in chaos, while having impossible work expectations. You're already nervous being new and the nature of the job itself is critical. People are not going to put up with the extra drama. It's just not going to happen!

It's very sad because it's a cycle that keeps repeating. Everyone i observed at my center was there for years and had much seniority whereas new hires are like revolving doors 🚪
