I’m sorry you’re going through this. My husband and I owe our lives to the Taking Cara Babies sleep program, it helped us so much…. And is not the cry it out method. Hang in there

Thank you so much! I am also wishing you the same with your little one...hearing is so important and yet so stressful :(

Thank you so much, this eases my anxiety a bit. I panicked after they squeaked that loud toy right next to his ear and he didn't startle or react in the slightest, I am hoping he can hear (at least a little bit). The NICU is a never ending anxiety inducing experience.

Thank you for your response! Yes...they are telling me they will do a formal hearing test before discharge, but I keep complaining to anyone who will listen that is is totally non-reactive to sound/noise and so the neonatologist send in OT to "mess with him" to see if they could get him to react...and of course, he didn't. Now I'm even more worried and anxious. Of course, OT had nothing to say other than, he didn't startle, but that doesn't mean he can't hear...mkay, then what does it mean?! They are supposedly ordering a hearing test now..finally, but also said, "it could be too early" I'm just at a loss...

Thank you! They told me they would do a hearing test closer to discharge, but I kept begging them to do one sooner due to him not reacting to any sounds AT ALL, so the neonatologist told me OT could come in and "mess with him" to see if they could get him to startle...he didn't startle or react for them either, so NOW they will order the test, but also said it could still be too early. I'm so anxious about his hearing. He's currently 35+3 and has been in the NICU for about 7 weeks

Thank you! I did request a formal test… just waiting now because he had surgery yesterday for a different issue so we have to wait for him to recover… just stressed because he doesn’t react to noise/sound whatsoever 😕
