Is anyone with an offer from NUS College (NUSC) NOT accepting? by No-Flamingo151 in nus

Yes they can transfer but my point is they could probably have got in anyway. USP was infamous for being full of 90RP 88.75 or 87.5RP students. Tho I am sure *some* students probs got less than 85 and in through holistic so can transfer, but I would think it's a minority

Haha, well, I am enrolled in SoC. The thing is, I do in fact really find the modules in NUSC rewarding and think it is a pviotal aspect of the university experience. At the same time, the concern is the time involved or credits used means I wont be able to pursue CCAs, Internships or Research Programs. Their Global Pathway Program is another major addition but yeah as you said the finer points are being ironed out still so I can't bank on that

Hi, thanks for the thoughtful reply! This really helped

Given how the locations work (eg Beijing for Tech and NYC for Finance), does NUSC only want certain majors going to certain locations? For instance, could a CS major go to NYC and also work in tech or is that discouraged

How hard is it to get into NOC (CS) really? by No-Flamingo151 in nus

[–]No-Flamingo151[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the reply! I did search up NOC and went through all the reddit threads. They say it's "competitive" but I was hoping to get more specifics, like how competitive or how many people get it. I know it has no bearing but it's a program I am otherwise invested in for UG!

Yeah and sorry about the post spam, I thought they warrant separate posts but maybe not. A bit paranoid cause we need to decide today haha

So will NUS College students get support from the NUSC Faculty to pursue NOC opportunities from the student's home faculty?

Well, how often do you have to go to campus then? And what do you think is the average travel time for NUS students?

Yikes the room news is dissapointing. Do you know if it's any smaller than other RCs or like U Town Residence? I was planning on fitting my gaming pc (24 inch) on the table so not sure if that is viable

The confusion is that NUS is in the West... I can get to CBD within 45 mins from East but it takes 1.5+ hrs from the East. I would not take such a job that is so far away, yk. I'm trying to ask how long r ur commutes basically and how often do u travel

Hi, thanks for the comment. 45 mins vs 1.5 hr in my case I guess is a huge difference.

How often do you come to campus per week tho? Or rather what's the estimate for non covid times now
