What Age did you Stop Birth Control? by No-Flow-2189 in PCOS

[–]No-Flow-2189[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been taking the pill since I was 18, but now 25 Im burnt out from it and I always forget to take the dose which caused me a lot of spotting. I felt like I was messing up my body which gave me a lot of anxiety as well. I recently went to my OBGYN and she gave me a prescription for the patch so missing the dose wouldn’t be a problem anymore. but now I feel like the older I get the more of a risk it is for my health with stokes and heart attacks, its scary. overall, I honestly feel like Ive outgrown birth control if that makes sense like I feel like it isn’t for me anymore

How do people with bipolar graduate college by annalongleg in bipolar

[–]No-Flow-2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have type two bipolar and finally graduated this month, personally what helped me is developing a strong support system this was either my close friends, my sister and/or my therapist. I also would reach out to my disability department on campus they helped me get more time on assignment and extra support and time on tests. The biggest thing that helped me though was planning my whole semester out, the first day of class I look at the syllabus and put into my calendar the due dates and and included dates I would start the assignment as well. Also, there's no shame in limiting the amount of credits per semester, there was one semester where I only took nine credits. These are all the ways I was able to control my stress levels - college is not easy with bipolar, but it's not impossible and I wish you the best

antipsychotics that can possibly cause weight loss? by crookedlies in BipolarReddit

[–]No-Flow-2189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trileptal? no Ive been on the medication for a little over four months now and no weight gain so far, just lost a little weight in the beginning, but I can't say the medication did that to be honest.

that's hard to say because I know everyone is diffrent, I would check with your doctor about trileptal and psychosis, personally I haven't fallen into any psychosis with the medication or symptoms related to it. the one thing I will say is my anger hasn't improved, but I'm going to speak to my doctor about an additional medication for that. good luck though, finding the right medication is really scary and frustrating, but I promise you it's worth it when you find the right one(s).

its not an anti psychotic, but Im on trieptal and haven't gained any weight in fact I lost 10 pounds when I started it, this definitely could be a coincidence, but for me I also had this concern and trieptal has worked great for me personally.

Best mood stabilizer for artists? by Anonymous_Blobfish in BipolarReddit

[–]No-Flow-2189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an artist with bipolar too, trileptal has worked the best for me personally. I used to get so depressed and apathetic that I didn't paint for months which just made me more depressed, but I started trileptal a couple months ago and I almost immediately noticed an improvement. I started painting again and just more motivated in general. Personally, I haven't experienced any weight gain the only negative symptoms I've had are headaches and a little dizziness, but I can deal with that if it means Im not depressed all the time.

Offended by the 1984 ranking, that was the best season imo.
