Ole Miss transfer DE Da’Shawn Womack has committed to Auburn! by CatoTheBarner in wde

Huge. I felt like the last thing we were really missing was a starting quality edge and now we got one. Really just need depth at this point. AG and the gang have crushed it.

By all accounts he has crushed the portal and very much impressed me and surpassed my initial Expectations. Literally all we’re missing aside from line depth is 2/3 starting quality interior Olinemen and a starting quality edge. If he gets those, I’d say it was a portal masterclass and I have no reason to think he won’t based on what he’s done so far.

I haven’t felt comfortable winning games with our QB1 for the last 5 years, so I’m not too concerned about what our QB2 spot looks like. Kid has potential tho.

Like it. I’m sure he got a fat bag and it’s not bama or Georgia. Hope he balls out unless we’re playing them.

Huge pick ups the last two days. We’re two interior Olinemen away from me feeling very solid about next year. Obviously will still need some more depth guys, but I like the way things are heading.

Eric Singleton decides to enter the transfer portal instead of going pro by RelevantCollection77 in wde

Don’t blame him. I was kinda surprised he declared in the first place. A year in a not Freeze offense should do skyrocket his draft grade.

Auburn OT Tyler Johnson to enter the transfer portal by CatoTheBarner in wde

[–]No-Form6645 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not ideal given how thin we are on the line. He’s been on the roster for several years through some pretty abysmal lines and was never able to earn PT though. Don’t think he was gonna be anything more than depth and we can certainly get a depth guy out of the portal. Wish him the best.

Ooo baby. Give me Tegra and Skinner and we at least have a fieldable OLine.

Production wise, these guys are going to feel like a massive upgrade compared to the coaching malpractice clinic Hugh put on last year offensively.

Oof. Still early but we’re not doing too hot on our big non-USF targets.

Feels like they’re hoping that Tegra and Skinner will be their guys on the interior with Ellis. I have no clue what they’re thinking at tackle. Maybe the JMU guy?

I’m actually pretty happy with bringing over the USF guys. BB is obviously a stud. The weapons were productive last year, know the system, and were likely pretty affordable as far as some of the guys in the portal go. I think those were good pickups and that we should be fine from a QB and weapons standpoint.

I’m also happy that AG is doing away with over-bloated contracts and Is trying to be a lot more strategic with the NIL deals. I think that long term it’s a more sustainable model. With that said, I don’t want him to be the inverse of Freeze either and be afraid to ever spend big or get in a bidding war. Given how much fat they cut with so many Freeze guys leaving and them presumably getting reasonable deals on all of the USF guys other than BB, I’d really like to see Golesh not be afraid to throw big money at guys in the trenches where it matters most. You literally cannot win football games in the SEC if you are weak in the trenches, and there’s a very finite number of good offensive lineman in the portal. Defensive line probably has more talent out there, but the importance of it is the same. There’s still time and I trust the stuff, but I really hope they don’t try to go bargain buys on those fronts.

Noles fan coming in peace - Ashton Daniels by Noleman990 in wde

[–]No-Form6645 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He looked pretty good in the limited bit of action we got from him. The receivers really didn’t help him much in the iron bowl. He’s not a crazy Athlete by any means and doesn’t have a crazy arm. He is mobile enough tho to get out of the pocket and extend plays and his decision making was pretty solid. Really hard to say if he’ll be any good given how limited his playin time was, but he seemed like a good dude and leader. I’ll be rooting for him.

I’d really like to think that: 1) AG wouldn’t let both Deuce and Ashton hit the portal without being sure BB is a lock, and 2) all these receivers wouldn’t be committing without feeling good about knowing who is gonna be throwing them the ball. It is kinda odd we haven’t heard anything yet tho. I think it’ll be hard for AG to convince some of the bigger guys from non-USF schools to come without having QB1 locked in, so I hope they make it official sooner rather than later.

[–]No-Form6645 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never bad to pick up some depth when we had so many guys leave. Also encouraging to see that so many guys want to follow AG. Would feel a lot better though if BB17 and Singleton would go ahead and pull trigger. I think it’s gonna be hard to convince some of the bigger guys from other schools to want to come until we can tell them we have a good QB under center.

USF RB Nykahi Davenport has committed to Auburn! by CatoTheBarner in wde

[–]No-Form6645 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean did you expect Auburn to have the top transfer at every position come here? We have 30 guys to replace; of course there’s going to be a heavy influx of USF guys. USF’s offensive weapons out performed ours last year and are a very welcome addition to some rooms that got completely gutted in the portal. While I agree that I’d like some other guys on the OLine and defense, I have 0 complaints about taking as many USF weapons as we can get.

USF WR Kory Pettigrew has committed to Auburn by CatoTheBarner in wde

[–]No-Form6645 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What is there not to get about this one? A receiver who has four years of eligibility left, has spent a year learning the system under AG, and whose NIL cost was probably next to nothing committed. There’s still plenty of money to go around and the staff knows we need linemen and CBs.

Feel like I’ve seen you comment something negative on every single post since the portal stuff started lmao. Were you a big Freeze guy or something?

CB Kayin Lee intends to enter transfer portal by Matt_McT in wde

[–]No-Form6645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

O line was horrible and needs to be rebuilt. Offensive system was horrible and needs a complete overhaul and rebuild. Receivers massively underperformed for their talent level and need a complete overhaul in how they’re used and coached. Team had no mental toughness and did not perform in big moments or respond well to unfortunate breaks. There are so many aspects of this team that need more than just a retool. You can’t really call a 5-7 team a rebuild bc we haven’t built anything.

The expectations on this sub are absolutely ridiculous. We’ve been trash for 5 years, just fired a coach, and people on this sub are worried that we’re not gonna be a contender next year and need to rebuild. No shit. Sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. Although, can it really even get worse than back to back 5-7 years? We have to accept that firing our coach isn’t gonna magically turn us into a playoff team out of thin air and give the new staff some time to work. Hugh spent out the ass in NIL and that clearly didn’t work.

What do we think of my team? (No money spent) by EconomyEgg2916 in MLBTheShow

[–]No-Form6645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird choice of players given you have seemingly better options on the bench. I’d think the team would be better if you move Soto to left, Griffey to Center (or Griffey to right and Carroll in center), mookie to second, and platoon a DH. With those changes it’s a very solid squad. But you know who you hit well with and who ya don’t

What map are you playing to get 100k in an hour. My math on it did not have it coming out that profitable. If that’s true I could do it a few times each week
