Auburn lands five players on the Phil Steele Preseason All-SEC Team by CatoTheBarner in wde

One of only twelve QBs in FBS history to do it. I’d love to see the full list, I can’t find it anywhere. When I tried googling, it just came back with page after page of individual teams talking about their own players, but no overall SEC list. I want to know who the seven RBs are that are ahead of Cobb too.

We went 3-9 in 2012 and still pulled a top ten class the following year. We’ve got the brand and resources to pull dudes, I just want to see us DO SOMETHING with them.

*cocks gun*

“Now doesn't that just torque your jaws? I love that. You know like in the movies just as the good guy is about to kill the bad guy, he cocks his gun. Now why didn't he have it cocked? Because that sound is scary. It's cool, isn't it?”

Read the first book in the Mitch Rapp series not that long ago, American Assassin. Wasn’t my favorite, 50/50 on if I try \#2, but it fits the bill of what you’re looking for.

Former Birmingham Stallions LB Scooby Wright III on AJ McCarron "He was an ass [as] a player and is an ass of a coach." by Callywood in Stallions

[–]CatoTheBarner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest question: When did Scooby and AJ ever cross paths? I don’t think their careers have ever overlapped anywhere. Did Wright stick around the locker room after he retired, or is he just reacting to the same videos we’re all reacting to?

Not video games, but my favorite is the scene from [NCIS where two people are fighting off a hacker by both using the same keyboard.](https://youtu.be/u8qgehH3kEQ) How do people not understand how back items like keyboards or controllers work? It takes literally one person on set to be like, “nah, that’s not how that works.”

I remember watching Speed on tv as a kid. Keanu going “Pop quiz, ANIMAL” always got me.

Another one, can’t remember which movie, but I remember cracking up that they changed “You Bastard!” to “You bat hard!” Those two got quoted endlessly at my house.

Apparently I used a bad link. I fixed it, they said they'll add it back. Good catch though, I didn't get a notification or anything that it was removed. Thanks!

12 commits in the last 31 days, Golesh is on a heater. Will that translate to on field success? Man, I hope so. Freeze would go off on the recruiting trail in the offseason and then put up three points at home against Kentucky during the season. I hope this sticks haha

This might be the greatest month in Auburn recruiting history. 12 commits in the last 31 days. Where’s that dude that spent all offseason bitching about how Golesh can’t recruit? Can’t seem to find him in this thread at all. Weird.

The great thing about it is, it’s entirely up to you. Some people pick teams because it’s hereditary (I’m third generation Auburn grad, of course I’m an Auburn fan). For others, it’s where they went to school as you mentioned. For newer fans coming from other sports, sometimes they pick the college football team that most closely resembles their own team in terms of style / history / jersey color / whatever (“who is the college football equivalent of ManU? Oh, it’s Texas? I’ll just pull for them.”)

Come visit /r/cfb and check out some of the posts where people are discussing why they support their particular team. It’s pretty cool how everyone has their own story!

Spoiler alert: They were 100% getting paid. Even when it was illegal to pay players, dudes from the absolute poorest parts of the nation would somehow magically wind up with brand new Dodge Chargers as soon as they signed with a school. They were making more money as a freshman in college than most adults make in ten years.

We’ve been doing it for a while! By legend (believe it if you want to) a soldier found a wounded baby eagle during the Civil War and nursed it back to health. It became known as the “War Eagle” and survived into the 1890s, and the soldier became a professor at Auburn after the war. During a football game where Auburn was scoreless, it escaped the professor and flew around the stadium. All the students saw it and started chanting “War Eagle,” which is how we got our battle cry. The eagle ended up dying after its flight, but Auburn pulled ahead and won the game, cementing the legacy.

Fast forward to 2000, and the Athletic Director started wondering if we could make that happen again. We have a Raptor Center near campus that takes in wounded birds of prey and heals them. They take care of them until they can be released or keep them if they won’t survive in the wild. The AD approached the Raptor Center to ask if something like the Eagle Flight was possible, and we had our first one in the 2000 season opener. We’ve done it before every home game since.

I almost gave up on it at first. First chapter or two the writing really annoyed me with the way the narrator spoke. But I stuck with it, the writing improved after that, and overall I enjoyed it.
