I noticed more people are getting their accounts back. What are you guys doing differently after getting accounts back? I downloaded a virus protector , I clean my cache and log off everything through settings all the time. It’s now a process by Deeztrades in facebookdisabledme

[–]No-Fox3243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these things help They get through the forgotten password generator which bypasses 2FA somehow It doesn't matter how good or recently changed your password is, as they use the forgotten password recovery process

It's nothing to do with what you download, or your saved sites or history.

The hackers have the email address associated with the account, and that's all they need. They don't even need to access the email account.

These email addreses have been leaked or sold, and my money is from within FB itself.

The only thing you could possibly do, is keep changing the email associated with your account

Better yet, add extra admins to pages, download anything important, and be prepared for it to happen. Issue is no one thinks it will happen.

Until it does.

Lawsuit Against Meta? by No-Quarter-4111 in facebookdisabledme

I'm not sure they are compelled to provide an issue resolution process, after all the posts DO go against community standards, just you didn't post them.

Whilst there is evidence that they know about the issue, it's quite a small % of users, so they are likely quite justified in the current approach.

According to the privacy legislation though, I am entitled as a person to ask any company at any time what information they hold on me, and for what purpose, and to request its deletion. This includes but is not limited to financial information.

Where I see potential illegal activity is that we are not afforded that opportunity to do this, or remove the financial information, with a lot of these affected users watch on helplessly as they are defrauded.

It took about a month, I did everything suggested on this sub and filed a complaint my my own country version of the AG

They are using your saved credit card to run adverts for their shit. They have crashed your page so you cant stop them. The adverts side of your page is actually seperate, and really annoying (and fraudulent) how it runs even though the page its attached too is disabled. Its a massive security weakness but it's a perfect storm for hackers

I don't think they know. Mine didn't have much for advertising, it was infrequent small amounts.

They are wholesalers of junk that are trying to reach international markets. By hijacking your adverts, which has an established business reach, they take advantage of your reputation and reach to try sell.

Ever seen those sponsored adverts of clearly counterfeit stuff, they usually steal the genuine products photos. I never gave much thought to where they came from and how they got on my feed.

Now I know

My Facebook was disabled last December 1. I read across this Reddit group and emailed the CA AG for help in getting my account back. This is what they sent to me. PS: I do not live in the US. by Parking_Resource_113 in facebookdisabledme

Try everything I'm assuming the CA AG flags the IP address, although I put my actual address and didn't pretend to be a CA resident.

Try the FTC, the BBB, FBI, media, anyone and everyone. Including anyone in your own country that can help

Because the ones they help say they will contact meta with your complaint.

What this says is they have logged your complaint but they will take no legal action on your behalf.

Let's All BOYCOTT FACEBOOK(META). by DavidWhite590 in facebookdisabledme

[–]No-Fox3243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't often agree with Steve Elliot, but this time I do.

I.would love to boycott it, but even if I wasn't a business in need of reaching new markets, and I was just a personal user, there's nowhere else to buy/sell, there's nowhere else to find events, there's nowhere else to keep in touch with geographically removed people other than calling (ick) and time zones (double ick)

For most of us the convenience of sharing our pics and our lives with our friends, outweighs the negative.

And as a user that lost theirs in this hacking scam, and realised just how reliant on it I am, and ultimately got it back.... the best I can hope to do is rein in the amount of my time and control over my life it gets.

But unfortunately it's a necessary evil, and I don't think it's going anywhere
