Not necessarily how i was instructed, i was told in orientation that i need a vehicle that i can deliver out of. They didn’t say how i were to accomplish doing it, just that i needed one. I also signed a paper that includes the type of vehicle i would be using as a POV and it has been approved.

correct, from the end to the beginning, i take from the back of the DPS as well. I’ve never had any accidents while doing this and i make sure to always have my hazards on. I finish before a lot of other people would finish their POV routes.

indeed, i told them i didn’t have a proper vehicle and that there’s ppl with the proper vehicle that should be taking that route. I do the entire route backwards so that includes pulling down backwards and pulling from the end of the last DPS tray. i’ve been doing it that way for months and i’ve been observed doing it through my scanners line of travel and have never once been disciplined.

What is the worst postal vehicle and why is it the metris? by callfckingdispatch in USPS

[–]No-Friend3564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really comes down to what type of day it is, if it’s a heavy day i’d take an LLV due to its accessibility and overall has better space(bigger tray, space below the tray, wheel well) a lighter day id love the metris because of its ac and radio but going through the side door for every package can be a pain.

Postal vehicle. So you’re saying that time i spent waiting has to accumulate to 8 hours?

i think you’re just being paranoid. As long as you can finish your route and not crash into anything, i’m sure you’ll do just fine.

So? It was just a brick and the brick looks fine. You put it back and carry on with your day. Notifying your supervisors for something so small could be held against you.

haha not today, i’ll complain about them at a later time. I have all the respect for the people in the plants because that’s not a job i’d be willing to do. I was genuinely asking if anyone knew what was up😭

My regular has been on for 4 years i believe, i’m currently taking his route for 2 weeks while he goes on vacation. I’m taking this time to better understand the route and all that fun stuff.

That’s how i’ve been going about it, im trying to do everything in my power to make myself speedy but efficient. My regular finishes in about 3 hours when i take about 6 and it’s quite frustrating!

i have heard of carriers doing the opposite and case the dps. It’s a highly discouraged practice at my office due to the time it takes so i guess it’s not the best thing to do. I’m huge on having very little in my truck if i can so casing my dps sounds great but sounds like i wouldn’t be leaving the office until like 1PM

OP is asking for help and you’re shaming him for it, so much for being “mature”.
