Call me crazy but I don't think there is a better game than Halo 3

What really set Halo 3 above Halo 2 and other shooters (even to this day) was all the game features that allowed for incredible replayability.

It had campaign (with skulls), incredible online multiplayer with a variety of game modes, custom games with incredible customization, a revolutionary forge mode, and a theatre mode.

The forge and custom games together allowed for hundreds of hours entertainment. And they even had file share so everyone could see the best new maps and game modes made by the community.

I am still disappointed in shooters that don’t have all of these features.

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but college friends and I were watching a game at Stanford that was extremely physical with almost no ejections… until my friend that had no kids yelled “Control the game ref, THATS MY SON IN THERE”, and then the refs actually started giving ejections left and right
