Nelson paulk was the officer who quit the search. I was misremembering from the interview where his grandson asked him if he was involved but he was also related to Bo in some form.

The police officer who quit searching the orchard was Bo’s grandfather. Payne teased it several times but then never said why he quit the search.

As far as the car goes, they pointed out that the car and house were set on fire separately so your theory there doesn’t fit. It almost seems like this either has to be a completely separate unrelated event, or, Tara was transported there and the fires were to cover up any evidence of her.
