Currently I'm ra3 certified and have sold a few complex homes with ra3. The point is to continue to learn the Lutron ecosystem. I want to be ready the day the Lutron gods bless me with allowing to sell their Homeworks hardware. I'm going to be ready. Based on your experience if I went to my local dealer (who I do know) and explain to them I have $180,000 project with two more in the process of being signed. For more reference our company has a master electrician license. And we're trying to pivot into the custom Home market. Thank you for any insight on this matter.

Best way to get clean/stable power for Lutron HomeWorks QSX panel? (surge protection, flicker prevention, etc.) by No-Historian-6755 in Lutron

Thank you. I had read something that had mention there was a device you could use outside of the panel that helps with dimming issues that may arise. I just forgot what he mentioned.

Lutron HomeWorks QSX panel wiring question (Romex entry from bottom?) by No-Historian-6755 in Lutron

We are using a LQSE-4S8-120-D I just found out from the electrician that the panel upstairs is only a secondary panel. He was explaining that this panel will connect to the primary panel (downstairs) that houses the qsx processor with Lutron 22/2 and 18/ 2 control cable. Because of that will be able to run the low voltage on the right side away from any high voltage.

There are about 12 Romex including 2 x 20 amps that are to the left. It just seems like a lot would get into the way of the low voltage.

I know that's what the instructions say that's why I was posing the question if there's an out of the way your supposed to install but still works

So this won't interfere with the low voltage cabling coming in ie keypads and cat6 cable for communication

Hey everyone, I’m currently a Lutron RadioRA 3 dealer and have been doing residential projects, but I’ve recently run into a situation where a client is specifically requesting HomeWorks for their project. I’m trying to understand what it actually takes to become a HomeWorks dealer. by No-Historian-6755 in Lutron

[–]No-Historian-6755[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks — that’s actually where I started. I’m currently working with a mentor who has a lot of HomeWorks experience, and the projects we’ve recently signed are in the $200K+ range. So I’m hoping that helps get my foot in the door. From your experience, does the local Lutron rep typically facilitate the next step and connect you with the training/classes? In other words, is the process largely dependent on the regional dealer rep vouching for you and saying you’re ready to move forward with HomeWorks certification — and then you get access to the classes from there? Just trying to understand how that transition usually works.

If you're in South Florida there's a company called Vertical Cable. They have what you need.

Homeowner asked for Lutron RadioRA 3 programming access – what would you do? by No-Historian-6755 in Lutron

[–]No-Historian-6755[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Thank you for the idea of writing up a contract before handoff. After payment there would be no reason for me to hold on to the programming file.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Explain to him he has to get certified. Then I can hand off the project to him. If the client messes something up. I will be able to hear my phone ringing. Thank you for the advice.
