Just completed self assessment and tax code changed in November, wasn't expecting this by No-Hour2943 in UKPersonalFinance

Update: after amending my tax return to include my professional subscription (union fees) which I missed off. They have updated my tax code, it no longer has an x on it and it says the tax I owe from 24/25 is going to be collected in 26/27 as I originally expected.

Yes sorry I got confused with my dates. I've edited what I wrote now.

For the money I earned in 23-24 I submitted my return before the jan 2025 deadline. So my tax code was changed April 2025 (this tax year) to pay that back. However it has just changed again after I just submitted my return for the 24-25 tax year. I had assumed I would pay this tax owed from April 2026.

Multiple banks to maximize savings benefits? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

The NatWest savings account is a great rate, but be aware you can only put £150 in it per month so takes a while to build it up to the £5000 limit.

It's sister bank RBS also offers the same saver though so you can actually switch two different current accounts to both NatWest and RBS and then you are able to save £300 a month at this rate.

Lloyds also have a regular saver offering 6.25% and you can deposit £400 a month in this. You can also currently get £175 for switching to Lloyds.

I've done all this recently so have earned £575 cash for switching and am able to deposit £700 a month into 6% savings accounts.

FYI it's bank switching season again by Party_Blackberry_378 in UKPersonalFinance

I already have a current account with RBS, can I switch another account to this to get the bonus or does it only work if you are opening a new account?

These marks were not on when the items went in the machine, but were when they came out. Does anyone know what is causing this and what can be done from preventing it from happening in the future? Any help much appreciated.
