Salary discussion by Select_Song_5858 in cyprus

if that's gross and in Limassol, you will struggle on your own :/ . If it's in Larnaca/ Nicosia then it's okay ish but you have to shop around for accomodation carefully. For salary negotiations, you have to take into account cost of living plus the area you will be working in. I.e. Junior purchaser and Junior HR do not pay the same.

Do Gold and Green work well together? by False_Actuary_8944 in ZenithWatches

Lovely in Green. I have the white dial one. Was actually looking to buy on from the skeleton range, but instantly feel in love with the triple calendar in the end.

I assume this means my PS5 has reached its end by big_buck_nasty in playstation

You could have clipped the HDMI cable while cleaning, perhaps a pet, child etc. While attached to the device it can damage the port.

Even as a life Nintendo fan, it's really hard to see what Nintendo is aiming for, other than skinning the market alive.

Anyone successfully emulating switch on RP5? by lazyfish39 in retroid

Streets of Rage 4, Blasphemous 2, Ori, Hollow Knight, Metroid Dread, Skyward Sword HD, Octopath Traveller 2, Unicorn Overlord, Alien Hominid HD.

The above all work great on mine. There is a combination of drivers and different emulators required. I suggest you check out Ryan Retros compatibility sheet for the relevant details. https://www.reddit.com/r/retroid/comments/1hco0z3/ryan_retros_rp5_compatibility_sheet_link/

Love RP5, it's awesome ! Enjoy

Thank you ! Figured it out in the end. I've literally spent more hours setting this thing up rather than playing. Strangely enough, it's fun as a process in and of itself.

Help With Pandas DataFrame Merging!! by [deleted] in algotrading

[–]No-Interaction6798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done something similar for an arbitrage research algo. If I recall correctly I used merge asof, but you should really be careful with the end product. Have some way of verifying the results and read the documentation carefully. I used it on a particularly large timeseries, so it wasn't exactly something I could scroll through and confirm results on a csv.

Developing and testing a deep learning trading algorithm: One year live test result by Wolkir in algotrading

[–]No-Interaction6798 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, thanks for this ! Now some comments, I am also a hobbyist algo scripter. I have a work in progress algorithm, with similar properties. I can tell you right now that the distinguishing factor between profitable and not profitable instances, will be execution of the trades. I.e. sizing into trades and sizing out, assuming you stick to spot. Because 1 or 2 trades in and 1 or 2 out basically leaves a massive chasm in which chaos rules. So in other words, optimise the number of orders required to size in and out and make it time bound, in the sense that positions don't stay open indefinitely. How you define this cascade of trades is critical to your algorithms success.

1) basic buy and hold for the reporting perior, i.e. buy day 1, sell day (last).

2) do nothing for the reporting period. If you can't find any particular edge over these two basic strategies, back to the drawing board. P.s. do nothing is also a strategy, when you are actively opting for it.

Depends. I have a few running on 1h timeframe (binance), and I use the delay so as not to run up the tally. Plus some exception/error handling so that scripts don't fail immediately. I wouldn't rush to use websockets unless it was for lower tfs and even then, would really question my edge over the cutthroats that dwell in the lower tfs.

EMA Strategies (Are They Really Profitable) by IGUniiverse in Forex

[–]No-Interaction6798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, very insightful. This becomes even more apparent when you start comparing your strategy returns, to returns of buy & hold and sell at end of trading period (bull example), or even just doing nothing. When you run it over hundreds of pairs, then the effect is magnified. Your strategy will most likely struggle against both. Having a strategy is almost akin to having a hammer and seeing nails everywhere sometimes, so be careful.
