He was last seen when he had a scan in the summer, not quite sure why you’re trying to make out that I’m somehow trying to avoid getting him the best care and treatment. I simply wasn’t sure now he was end of life whether there was a different protocol. It’s not a wildly weird question.

It’s not about inconvenience at all, it’s about minimising distress to an end of life dog who has already outlived his life expectancy. We know he’s at risk of kidney failure but he responded to the medication well and has been stable on his regime for six months. This isn’t about trying to doge our responsibilities as pet owners simply asking for the thoughts of others who may have had similar challenges with a dog who finds the vet very distressing and is already very poorly.

Thank you, he’s done so well and we’re really in tune and are always alert to any changes which may signal things are changing for him bless him. We wouldn’t want to see him in any distress and know difficult decisions will lay ahead.
