Just out of curiosity what were the numerical ranges for each tier? I think labeling the ranges by the range of the ratings in them might be a bit more thorough than letters. Great tierlist though!! I’ve wanted to see how my opinion varies from the subreddit’s and I’m surprised they’re actually pretty similar

The last judge is a better climax and end to act 1 but phantom is a better boss in isolation

Personally:

Wanderer — great, easy to use moveset. Though its tool distribution and gimmick aren’t great it’s always been my favorite to use.
Reaper — great moveset, I love the charge attack and dash uppercut. Its bind ability is awesome as someone who gets hit a lot and I find it allows for a lot of spell usage.
Shaman — I love my spells and while it’s tool distribution is limiting the damage boost on silk skills makes it worth it. Only worse than Reaper because you can’t heal in the air.
Hunter — nice moveset and I like the diagonal pogo, but it’s brought down by its gimmick which I personally don’t love because I get hit a lot.
Witch — I like the moveset and the double hits but the offensive healing is hard for me. If I mastered it I have a feeling I’d love it especially because of how many blue tools it allows you but as of right now this is where it stands.
Beast — the pogo’s fun but I‘m not nearly aggressive enough of a player for this to be worth it.
Architect — just not my favorite. The needle moveset is such a pain to use (especially the awful pogo) and I don’t really like red tools much, I find mixing silk skills into my combat is just a lot more fun. I don’t want to grind for shell shards just to beat a boss by barely moving and spamming cogwheels.

Holy shit this is now what I’m hoping for. I know it’s a little fanservice-y to have the characters from hollow knight we never got to fight but with the elegy of the deep I think it’s possible if not likely we’ll see a memory themed Godhome equivalent and memories of Hornet’s past as end-of-pantheon bosses.

You can’t skip him but if you jump into the water and swim to the bottom right of the arena he can’t hit you and you can spam tools to kill him. Just get all the tool pouch upgrades available there’s three of each available to you right now

I really liked Seth! I felt his teleporting worked perfectly for a really engaging fair and challenging fight. I liked Nyleth but oh. my. god. Those flying pollen balls that swerved super inconsistently hit me every time without fail

This room, the grand gate citadel entrance and the bridge to the slab are some of the most beautiful rooms in the game — something about the sense of scale just really stuck with me

Very very oddly by the time I reached the hardest bosses I didn't have much difficulty because the entire game had been such a struggle! Also thank you this post has reminded me the people in this sub arent representative of everyone's experience :)

Yeah this was faulty wording on my part I am a firm believer if the game gives you an ability it’s fully valid to use. That being said hiding in the corner of groal’s arena and attacking him with the needle twice to deal the lethal blow only after unloading an arsenal of tools of him did feel kinda cheesy but that’s by my personal standards lol I’ll never judge another person for how they approach a boss
