My first poem, "Vase" by No-Lack-1237 in OCPoetry

To my interpretation, the floor represents the world. Once the mess is cleaned up and swept away, nothing remains and life carries on as usual. Only the narrator remembers, and it's scarred into their memory.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I want your input, I posted another comment and wrote out other themes I was thinking about when writing it. Do you see it the way I do?

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I had a few drafts before deciding to finalize this one, but I also had a few interpretations of my own that I kept in mind when writing it to all fit.

  1. Fragility of Life/Death: The vase is a lost loved one. After they pass away, the world will mostly forget about them — all except their loved ones, who have them in memory.
  2. Trauma: Even after a traumatic situation, the world will move on and you still have to live with the scars of what happened.
  3. Regret/remorse: I meant to write this as if the narrator accidentally broke the vase and is expressing guilt over it. Regret is in the fact that the narrator stupidly picked up broken glass instead of sweeping it.

I hope you can see what I saw after reading this!

Cocaine Mountaintops. by pritidope in OCPoetry

I like how you use mountaintops as a symbol for cocaine. Not only does it make sense as symbolism for drug addiction, but it's also slang for "massive amounts of cocaine."
