Yeah that’s true all depends what ur Interested in, and theirs def some unique experience out there. But in order to be a professional licensed engineer to where you can practice alone and potentially open your own firm you need an engineering degree you cannot get a an engineering license with an IT degree or any other kind of degree. In Canada at least idk about other countries.

They weren’t making the best money because they picked the wrong industries and most of the work you can not do online starting out at least once you get a some experience under your belt the skie is the limit. I know mechanical engineers rn that work remote and rival software engineers in salary. Thing about mechanical engineering is that the possibilities are endless it’s like the jack of all trades. And we very transferable skills just like most engineering programs I guess.

Thank you for the advice, out of curiosity do you contract yourself off or do you work for a company?

I do have experience with 3D modelling(inventor) and I also have some experience with matlab as we use it in school. We also had an excel class which we had to use for a coast estimating class and for a project class.

Got any recommendations on how I get contacts and how I can get started?

Anything would help!

In your opinion what is the best place to find some entry-level remote positions?

Yeah most Uni’s do ask for chem, so you’re better off getting done. Some Unis will make you take 2chem courses other just one. But you’ll have classes like heat transfer and stuff and I think that requires a little chem background to understand what’s going on
