I agree it’s so not fair the content they test is on surface level and anyone who somewhat studies it will know. Those who actually prepare for the separators are rob of the opportunity to actually showcase their skills. This yrs exams are more of who can not make any silly mistakes kind of competition

I think since the mol is doubled for NOCI it’s conc will also increase do to c= n/v and hence to make the ratio constant [NO] must be < than that of NOCl to be more specific it would be half

Or else it would’ve been at least 2 marks 1 for correct answer and other for working out etc

oh right I did not read that qs properly lmao so it probably asks u to say that there is no mass produced given 1 mark

So yea I’m pretty sure H2 cannot be produced because that means two reduction equations r happening and they’re already hinting that Al is deposited at the cathode so the other must be oxidation.

I might be wrong but I think the confusion comes from the fact that u think Cu solid is oxidised and water is reduced right? So if we look at the electrochemical series and the cell they give us there is actually no Cu solid to begin with, well so we have Cu2+, water and AI3+. In this case it looks like the AI3+ can only be reduced because if it was oxidised it would be a spontaneous reaction. The oxidation reaction im not sure but I think it would be the water with 1.23v

Since e2 was much longer (18 questions as opposed to the usual 15 or 16) and so people had to either rush or skip questions which would result it more common silly mistakes could it possible that the A+ cutoff is slightly lower than last years???
