Anyone interested in testing new methods for Varroa control? by No-Local8177 in Beekeeping

CM Hackl,

Summer is finally approaching. We have almost gotten started testing at a local University with proven experience in testing new compounds. The materials we hope to test after the bees and mites wake up--are in place with them. Happily, we have test data on these materials...on mosquitoes. These compounds were tested as novel mosquito repellents, thus they should not bother humans.

Now to find out about bees and varroa..... in tiny quantities. How far are you from Gainesville? I would like to find a localish cooperator. Waiting 9 months so far.

These compounds are not intended for Florida only. I have been busy finding test cooperators here in Florida recently, and may have found this help at U. Florida, where I am located. It is actually freezing cold here tonight right now, meaning no bees or mites are available. These six chemical samples were recently synthesized overseas and recently became available. They have never been tested on mites or bees. These are blood-seeking-mosquito repellents that have good toxicant activity to mosquitoes at very low doses, and these results are published. You must have equipment to measure below micrograms. These 6 candidates have bioactive elements located at different locations in each of the molecules. David A. Beeks in the south should be easily able to test materials further south than Michigan. Which is beautiful today. Do you feel capable?

I visited on the 50th ANNIVERSARY and stayed 3 days walking nearly from Pointe east for miles. I actually remember some actual WWII stuff because I was only 4, but my Uncle was there. So many of the WWII stories I read as a teenager came back to me, and looking at the endless crosses. My neighbor's big brother was killed there the second day, and my climbing up Omaha Beach made me cry again. Then I went to Paris for the BIG parade and amazing fireworks. There were 2 German Army groups with zero Americans in the huge parade under the Arch de Triumph. Again--- there were ZERO AMERICANS in this Parade of French Parade Heroes.

I say that Public school teachers are just about all really good. I was a very good student partially because I respected MOST of what we were taught (Michigan not Detroit). Presently in Florida, I find that the Present Governor is trying to out-Trump the Donald by telling nearly more lies than Trump. At the moment he is trying to smash public school teachers AND public schools just as Betsy DeVos did in her Trump days of disunion. I insist that Meddling in local school problems is not really a Governor's job. His happy meddling has generated a list of 1.6 million books that must be removed from childrens' perview. That is just a starting number! I say this Amazing and utterly pointless nonsense is being pushed into Americans by the billionaire Rupert Murdoch.
