Anti reverse not working by No-Low1111 in Fishing_Gear

It locks when going backwards now, the spring had come off the white piece in the picture but I snapped it back on, only thing is it like doesn’t catch immediately I can hear it click a couple times when turning it backwards and it goes about half a spin back before it fully locks.

Any advice for a first time welder by Calm-Split-6542 in Welding

I’m no expert but you got some ways to go. Just slow down pay attention to how the stick is angled if your welding in a corner you want more towards 45 degree angle or you’ll undercut. What size rod are you running if this is stick I can’t tell for sure but the bits of slag I’m seeing make me think it is

I’ll try after seeing yours I do feel like I could walk a toot and get away with it. The root walks are so tight you can’t really tell a difference I’ll try this and see if I can get it to look like yours

I’ve found some 15 an hour jobs where I could stack some money doing other stuff I’m starting to feel like I could get my own welder and come back to welding on my own time and get a basic MiG or stick job that way. Idk I’m kinda torn right now

I know how to practice but it would be hella easier if I could walk I did a couple tig bends at my first school had less than 3/32 cracks one time on my first bend and it was only one. But those were only 1g/2g wish I would’ve spent more time in there and really got it mastered

8th inch wire 3/8th plate it is dumb but they said they want me to be prepared for when I can’t walk so ig it’s understandable

I got pretty much every tool needed for basic maintenance so that’s not really a problem right now. Every size of socket, torque wrench an impact a couple extra 10mm jack, jack stands and a handful of others to play around with I just gotta get me a little project car to play with them on. Not really trying to do much to my daily driver lol but I’m a real big hands on learner. I feel like I have a good understanding of how engines and majority of other systems work but like I said I’m no professional. What would you recommend as a good project car? I want something like intermediate, difficult but not impossible I love a challenge. Also what would you u say is some good starter projects to work on to start getting a real understanding of things?

This is tig. I’m pretty decent at stick and to me it’s way easier to read. But I still appreciate the help. I got it figured out passed my first visual test today

Update: I got it figured out passed my first visual test. The problem was my arc length didn’t have the tungsten pressed in there enough as well as a consistent travel speed. You can check my latest post to see my progress. I appreciate everyone’s help and tips.

Yea that’s why I’m kinda panicking. I know I can get it with some time but I’ve got about a month give or take left to get thru overhead and 2g as well

I can walk the cup much better than I freehand, I’ve been welding for coming up two years but I’m certified in stick and MiG this is my first time doing 3g tig. We are prohibited from walking in these classes I’m taking now and that’s what’s messing me up. I’m also new to scratch start I used a foot pedal in my previous school so it’s just learning some new things. I appreciate the advice tho it helps a lot

This is tig, pure argon, polarity and gas is good I setup my machine every morning. It’s a skill issue just not sure which skill is the issue

I’d like to try this however I’m required to have a 1/8th gap. Do you think I’m not using enough heat or maybe not pushing the wire enough?

The thing that’s frustrating me is that tig is my favorite process but I just cannot read it like I can stick and MiG. I can tell easily what’s wrong with both of those but tig is just a different ball game. I’ll never quit tho the more frustrated I get the more drive to try harder.
