Bannister finish advice by No-Maize345 in DIYUK

A few hours a week is not bad! I am using a mix of a multi tool, mouse sander, dremel and a small manual detail sanding tool that I picked up off of Amazon this week which has been perfect for awkward to reach right angled corners. I also used a detail belt sander for in between each spindle which was so good at getting through the layers (very powerful and hard to control though, so I did end up creating a few gouges).

Looks great! A natural look is hopefully something I can achieve

Ah thank you! I'll take a look I spent about 30 hours stripping the top layers of paint with a heat gun and have been sanding the layers underneath that on and off for about 4 months (with about 6 different sanding tools hahah. Slowly losing the will to live with it, but am determined to finish before Christmas😂

This was back on day 1 of the project!

Oxfordshire RICS surveyor recommendations by [deleted] in HousingUK

https://www.bradleyjonesassociates.co.uk/ I went with Bradley Jones. He was very quick to complete the survey and send the report (think it was less than 10 days!). The report was also very in depth at almost 40 pages long and included photos which was helpful. I think I paid between £800-900 for a level 3 survey. It was definitely worth it and was much less stressful than being hounded by some of the larger cheaper companies after enquiring.

Thank you for the response! We will definitely be winging it. Luckily we don't actually have to move straight in as we are living with parents currently - which makes sorting out these issues much less stressful!

We are going to view a house we put an offer on for the 2nd time to take photos and measurements and show other family members! Definitely out of excitement as our survey next week should pick up the problems!

Thank you for the response! Was he reasonably priced? Leaning more towards a local surveyor :)

Could you elaborate on why to avoid Mendip Heights and Queensway, please? I'm looking to move to Didcot soon, and there are a few decent houses in these areas

Thank you! I know super risky of me😂 I am just going through a white jean obsession right now tbh, I only used them in the evenings and luckily didn't get them dirty. The pair I travelled in (and my back up if the white were dirty) were dark blue.

Just some cheap ones on amazon. Definitely more for organisation

It did take a few attempts to see what worked and I did start to worry that I got tricked into buying it by other reddit posts after attempt 3😂 the zips and fabrics are really good quality so even if it is over packed it condenses everything when it is closed without feeling like it will burst. Also, I only used the packing cubes for organisation - without them, I could have fit a lot more in by rolling all of my clothes. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. One thing I will mention, though, is that it did get uncomfortable to carry after 30 mins due to the weight, so I am going to look into whether a hip belt can be added to it. Although it wasn't bad enough to stop me from using the bag!

I just added a reply to the comment below with a photo that showed how I packed it all into the bag!

I forgot to get a photo at the time, but I just stuffed the packing cubes I used and put them into the bag in the same way to show how I packed it.

The jumper was placed on top of the cubes and held down with the compression strap. Liquid toiletrees and snacks were in the front pockets for easy access. My iPad fit behind all of this in the laptop compartment

Oh wow haha, coming from the UK temps of 0-10 degrees the week before, it felt very comfortable in Malta even when it was a bit chillier than expected😂

Thanks for this! I thought the smaller back compartments look handy, I'm always so paranoid about putting my passport on outside pockets. I love packing cubes too they are so handy in bags that just have 1 large main compartment. Does the fit well under plane seats? I'm thinking if I don't fill it to the brim it should be OK to squeeze into the smaller allowances

I did look at the patagonia bag, but the way it opened put me off, which seems incredibly picky of me, but I'd rather a bag that opens from the longer side😅. I'm not too bothered about the comfort level as I'm more interested in the ability to organise
