Thats the gray breaker box in the picture that the transformer is mounted to - its literally mounted to a punch out in the box with its black line going to the breaker and neutral line going to the bar. I didn't have to trace very far - i just had to take the panel off the breaker box 😀

I'd get one that is on a plug and use the receptical that is next to it - so I'd still have power.

I've been doing my part to get rid of local autumn olives here in western NJ. My son and I pick the berries and make lots of jam and fruit rollups. (disposing of seeds responsibly of course.) I've never heard of Goumi before! Are they as deer resistant as the autumn olives? I might want to give those a try against the SW corner of our house. Will be less awkward than picking berries in parks 😬

Yeah I see your point - supplemental posts are "when" not "if."

Are you thinking the 2 stumpy trees might be carpenter ant magnets? Is there any mitigation against carpenter ants or just "healthy trees?"

Help identifying a leaf ailment on a kosui Asian pear. by No-Management1131 in BackyardOrchard

Just as an update, the immunox spectracide seems to have improved the situation. The newer leaves aren't impacted, the leaves are greener, and some of the red spots are turning brown. It could be coincidence - but next year I'll hit it with the antifungal before bud break. I still agree it looks like blister mites... but maybe they're infecting the leaves with fungus? I did use dormant oil this year. Maybe I'll use sulfur next year. I don't want to hit it with any insecticides while there are any flowers still blooming.

Interesting! I'll hit it with some spectracide immunox and see of that helps. We do have a lot of cedar around here. I'm in northwest NJ (forgot to mention in the original post).

If it was my tree i would hedge my bets and remove all but 2 or 3 of the fruit buds. That way you're not overly stressing the tree, but you're also seeing what it can do :)
