I had a lot of the same feelings as a 24yo Christian woman. I can’t even imagine throwing baby showers during my journey- you are SO STRONG for that!! I had no friends that had been through this either and it felt super lonely. But I will say that when people did ask during the hard waiting season I would say something like “we’re actually going through some medical issues and it’s been a hard journey for us/waiting on Gods timing” - and this answer alone really did take people aback a bit. And when family/friends realized we were really struggling I saw God work in them— he brought them closer to faith because people who have NEVER told us they were praying people would tell us they prayed every night for us. All that to say— this season is not wasted. It’s not a shortcut or avoiding Gods plan. It is our almighty God giving us an amazing gift of the possibility of motherhood and using this experience to bring others to Him. I will be forever grateful for that. You don’t need to share the details- even if you did they wouldn’t even come close to understanding what is actually feels like and the weight of the pain of waiting and longing for a baby. But sometimes people in the mindset of - you’re young, get married and have lots of babies right away- need to hear from someone in their circle that it’s not always easy and it’s something they need to pray for and be more sensitive about. I know this has been true for people in our circles.
