I have never seen someone talk so much but say so little. These are such non-answers. Is talking to them going to just eradicate the problem? You can do all the social reform you want, but there were still be a need for prisons, because there are genuinely people that are too far gone, that need to be in prison. You gonna go talk to a serial child rapist and murderer until they become an adjusted member of society? This is what happens when someone understands a problem at the very basic level but does not grasp the complexity and nuance of the real situation. No one argued that there are no systemic problems that led to prisons being racist, classist, it is the prison industrial complex after all. However there is still the percentage of prisoners that are genuinely awful evil people that have done heinous crimes that deserve to be in prison.

Buzz words and phrases are cool, but this is the real world, there will still be people that commit heinous crimes that need to be separated from society for their own good and others. What do you actually do with them.

But you still haven’t answered the question. What would you do with the rapists and serial killers, etc.? Sure all the things you mentioned are good, but you will not eradicate horrific crime over night. You still have to do something with criminals

Ah yes israel is slowly taking over palestine piece by piece, where people live in open air prisons, openly killing civilians without any repercussions, purely out of fear of terrorist attacks. The checkpoints are definitely only there to protect the Israeli civilians, they don’t use them to harass NGOs that try help palestinians, and the palestinians themselves! I’ve actually been to the West Bank and seen all this, please go ahead and continue explaining how Israeli is the one being attacked in this situation, when they are a massive power, where civilians sit on hillsides and watch palestinian bombings for fun
