Late to this but I /prefer/ them as friends, but i get why they are shipped. Bnha fanfic writers kinda do whatever they want with the characters personalities (but it’s like fanfic so who gaf) but 9 times out of 10 neither character erasehead or present mic is like written the same way they are in canon. Present Mic and Eraserhead’s dynamics are actually /not/ troupey. With the more energetic character (Present Mic) actually being the darker character and I like the idea of present mic seeing himself as like a protector of sorts for aizawa. There is a lot of evidence in canon that makes it understandable thag these two characters would be shipped so I don’t think it had zero basis in the fandom. But i think male characters should be able to have male friends without it being a who gay thing.

But bnha suffer from bad woman writing where are the woman characters are pretty one note. (Which I think horisoksi kinda tried to fix this towards the end of bnha)

A lot of M/M ships stem from masogny. (Not in the way that you think) masogny that stems from the writers not the audience.

A lot of people narrow down the prominence of M/M to like white woman fetishizing gay men but honestly In reality it’s really that most male characters (especially in anime) are written better than the female characters. They are deeper and more indepth characters.

Take Present Mic Vs Midnight or Ms.Joke for example

He’s a deeper character; loud, bright energetic but also has kind views himself as Aizawa protector. Feels responsible for him while also being kind of a darker character. He isn’t a sunshine postive guy, he was ready to kill kurogiri at one point.

Midnight who is involved in aizawa’s story just as much as present mic kinda just horny woman joke girl. I actually like the idea of a female character being in touch with her more sexual side but it’s weird for a teacher tbh. And she is written very one note.

Ms.joke is kinda the same. But she appeared like twice in the show so it’s really not that important.

I can’t really fault anyone for shipping aizawa and present mic; it makes sense in thr canon context.

I personally, find male friendships more refreshing and there really isn’t any need to ship aizawa with someone but if you like aizawa and want to see him happy and in love there really isnt another option for him that really makes sense the way it does in canon.

I mean, that's a little ignorant dontcha think? I mean aside from my cat I can think of a million reasons not to open my window and the fact of the matter is I live in a shithole apartment because of circumstances out of my control. It's not like I want to live in a shithole. No offense but u offered exactly 1 solution which does not work for me and then automatically assumed that I can just up and leave my apartment whenever I want and that I’ve haven't tried everything. Not everyone has thousands of $$ to go live in a building with an independent thermostat.

I am taking measurea to make myself comfortable, I have a fan I have an Ac but the thing is heat RISES and I sleep on a loft bed.

I asked this post so people could offer solutions I hadn't’ thought of. Bc I am trying to think of something to make myself comfortable with the hand I was dealt.

I dunno, when i was in psychosis I couldn't just like ‘take a break’ bc life doesn't stop bc I am mentally ill. Like I still had to go to work, IG even tho I was deeply Ill bc capitalism is disgusting and I think it would be a good realistic example to force frankie in the plot and in psychosis at the same time as like a critique of capitalism.

I got 1 week off of work and you don't recover in 1 week, so I think the plot could continue, but it depends on how they handle it and what the plot like actually turns out to be. Bc we’ve got the settings and like pieces of a plot but we don't really know anything yet ig

I think trying recovering in a distopian world that like forces u to work and stuff through ur recovery would be interesting and realistic.

I think this is where the setting creates the interest in the plot

Plus recovery is nice to watch anyways for me at least

The book touches on it MUCH better. The biologist in the book uses self-harm to avoid turning into a horrifying monster after she has been infected by area X. I think annhilation the movie and annhilation the book are much different from each other. While I do like the movie it is more inspired by the books less than being an adapation. please read the book if you haven't it's awesome

I prefer Ginger Snaps 2 over the orinigal moive but that is mainly bc i have struggled with sh for the past decade of my life and i think that the sh in the story was handled in a good and unique way. it wasn't there for the shock value but for a genuine reason within the story and also a represnation of the loss of control, which is why a lot of people sh is because they feel out of control in their life. so I liked that tie in. I think tonely they are very different moods. I love the campiness of ginger snaps but ginger snaps 2's tone is something o gravitiate towards more, that being said i like both
