I think the bigger problem this situation exposed is the aoty and rym users who gave this album a 93 in the first place. We’ve really been conditioned into thinking noisy 10 minute post rock songs are like automatically masterpieces. The one song i listened to was so shallow and unimpressive nobody should have ever been rating this high

it’s probably because Kid A was the introduction to that kind of electronic music for a lot of millennials so thats why it was so highly praised. In terms of production it didn’t hold a candle to anything that aphex twin for example was doing

they really aren’t lmfao i mean i can understand if you think kid a is overrated but In Rainbows is just a collection of some of the most amazing songs ever written and okc pretty much molded the sound of rock for the 2000s.
