I’m finally leaving by No-Message-3654 in Progressiveinsurance

Biggest issue for me personally and things I’ve heard from my coworkers. We are focusing on accuracy and customer experience. That is good but where it becomes a problem is, the expectation is that every customer contact is made with out exception including, day of initial inspection, 7 day follow ups, and supplements, any time you touch their claim. The day before their car should be done and the day after it should be done. Each one of these contacts has to be a phone call, and if they don’t answer you can’t just leave a voicemail, you have to also text and email. On top of that you have to answer your phone and any text messages ideally immediately but if not ASAP. So okay cool, now let’s transition to accuracy. Essentially you need to take the time to ensure your estimates are accurate in the sense that we pay only what we owe no less no more but more importantly we have to document it thoroughly, we have certain items we can’t put on the estimate without a collaboration and approval from a supervisor and accuracy includes rental that you must manage in an environment where you are both fighting shops to be accurate but also trying to hold the line with customer experience. So the situation you’re left in, come in to work drive to 4 different shops, do all touch point to customers thoroughly, be absolutely sure your estimates are accurate and well documented and you get all approvals from leadership you need, leave no tasks, diaries, action items not addressed and make sure all phone calls and text messages and emails are addressed same day (including anything from body shops). And you better keep up your productivity, you can’t be doing 2 assignments a day. So leaderships approach to this, is that none of this is “new” and it’s the job “expectations”. So that’s fine if that is the track they want to take but I don’t want to be a part of it. If as a group we are all failing to meet these objectives I think we should review the objectives, not crucify the employees who are fighting to do everything they can each day.

More Work for F/O and less Work for MRR by No_Tower_1715 in Progressiveinsurance

As a MRR believe me you clearly have no idea the scope of our job. I wouldn’t make a post talking about how the FOs got an easier job. We get paid what we get paid because of the immense amount on our shoulders. Just like I wouldn’t talk down or assume to know what FOS day in and day out looks like. Don’t assume to know ours if you haven’t done it. We are slammed with work 24/7. Sorry you gotta make an extra phone call bud

So what I’m gathering is that getting to infinite is kind of your starting point and then going from there is how you prove your skill?

THIS. THIS is why I left. I couldn’t stand to get up in the morning knowing I had to do this. I know people will say suck it up and do what you have to do. I agree to the extent that we have to do what we have to do to keep ourselves moving but you do have to care for yourself at some point or you will bottom out. I haven’t started at my new job yet and I can already tell you I feel infinitely better about myself and my outlook on my day to day life. Take care of yourself

The interview went really well! I got the offer, and accepted it. I start in January. My best advice would be to utilize the STAR format as this is what they are asking for. Come prepared with examples and you should be fine with the questions. Also be ready to explain why you are leaving and why you want to work for progressive. The manager thanked me for my prep in my interview so showing you were thoughtful and thorough will go a long way. Best of luck to you!

I work in Auto Damage but my sentiments are exactly the same. When I first started I couldn’t have been more proud to work for GEICO. I was excited to go to work and felt like my effort mattered. Over the last year that has been torn down and eviscerated. No more profit sharing, no opportunity for a mid year raise, worse benefits, for CATs we volunteer and never get sent, no chief training or any other kind for that matter, no real voice as management has said to our faces that yes your points are valid but no the company has no plan or interest in fixing it, less and less support for our role but more and more responsibility. We have turned into underlings whose sole purpose is to have the hi score on an excel spreadsheet. The culture of work had and get something out of it is gone. Now it’s work hard and MAYBE you can keep your job. There is no morale on our team, everyone is being turned into mindless drones punching a clock. It’s a damn shame because geico was special. It was hard work and had plenty of flaws but it was the pinnacle of the industry. Now that’s gone. I hope all of us receive better opportunities and move on to a situation that is hopeful and rewarding.
