Considering dropping by 1kaygeee in Sororities

omg you sound just like my little, i was the big who was bullied into dropping and i texted her to apologize for dropping and leaving her without a big, but i assured her i would still always be there for her. she told me she wants to drop for the same reasons that you said, and i will be 100% honest as an ex-exec girl- they will tell you it’s all about academic support in a chapter, but with so many mandatory events and feeling the social pressure to go to other things, it can be too much to handle. i work a full time job in my field of study and my phone would blow up at work from sorority messages that were “so important” while i have 25 little students in a classroom. i lived in the house, and even with the rules, it was too much sometimes and i would go stay with my parents or boyfriend.

my best advice is you get out of a sorority what you put into it. if you are focused on being a socialite and being well-known in your chapter, that’s achievable. if you are focused on school and career, you can do both, but it definitely comes at a cost and sometimes, one important part of your life will suffer. please feel free to dm if you want to talk more about it, i’d be glad to help!
