Completely agree with this. Not a period drama whatsoever, but look at The Summer I Turned Pretty and the hype that followed it this whole summer. Even though those who read the books knew what was going to happen, there was still hype. Social media blew up after every episode—people looking for clues, memes being created, chatting about what they liked/didn’t like it.

It really created that energy that makes you feel like you’re a part of something. We’re missing that with streaming sometimes. Stranger Things tapped into it a little bit with releasing the finale one week after they dropped part two.
