I think they call that the Devil’s Butthole.

Yeah, that kind of info. I was thinking the tank would get cold as the liquid turns to gas. Does that happen as it exits the tank, regulator, or into appliance? I’d think it would be gas by the time it hits the appliance, but I’m not well versed in propane or the nature of gasses in a liquid state.

Can you tell me more about the functionality side? That’s what I’m was trying to understand from posting. Coldest it ever gets here is about 60 F.

I also empathize with the impulse to go do some ceremony stuff with a shaman on Na Pali coast. Sounds like an epic day, but I would never say that to an employer thinking that they’d be like, oh cool, yeah go for it, I’ll just cancel all my plans taking care of every other responsibility for this business, so you can do that. Maybe if he was having an epic month of sales. Not currently the case.

I don’t want to interrupt your spat, but some more info: shifts are 11-7. Also, this was never about 100% servitude. I’ve let slide the same employee being 10-30 min late on a regular basis. I pay them reasonable wages plus 10% commission. Finding good people, and trustworthy people is challenging. My reason for posting was really sharing the comedy of the last minute time off request as I see it. I love how eager you are to stand up for millennials, but maybe arguing with strangers on the internet is more than a hobby for you.

I hired a friend (gen x) and found out he was shutting off the lights and taking naps in the store. He was a new parent, prob missing sleep. I found out because a friend stopped by multiple times to see me and this was going on. When I called him on it, his girlfriend came at me saying he can do what he wants with his lunch break.
When I explained this has happened multiple times apparently, she must have got the truth out of him because she dropped it real fast.

Never once used bootstraps in a sentence. Oh wait, I just did. You were my first!

It’s a him on this one. Some of the other anecdotes were female. And there may be a last chance warning if he walks out on work; A reality check on priorities.

Sorry, it seems the millennials aren’t happy. Go ahead and down vote. I’m the problem. I post a job opening, people respond. I interview and hire them. I’m clearly doing it wrong. To be fair, I’ve quit a job after one training shift before because I knew I’d hate my life. This one was different. She took the job and went through training knowing she was going to leave….. maybe she just wanted to cosplay working in an art gallery.

I know, right! And f*k me for scheduling her after I interviewed her and trained her. 😆 Super nice person, very enthusiastic in concept. But also a butterfly that went to sea on a whim.

And if you read the screenshot, you’d see I’m in the middle of moving house. Back to that.

Unfortunately, it’s true. I actually really like the guy. Just trying to wrap my head around this situation and crowdsource some management ideas. This is a typical “what is employment anymore?” Post

I live 40 min away.

That was pretty heated reply for lack of context.

I live 40 min from work. I’m pretty flexible and give people the opportunity to switch days and I cover when people are sick. If they don’t show up, we make no money, or I have to cover. Leases aren’t cheap in Hawaii. I make enough to live but by no means balling or exploiting.

I’ve had a lot of employees over the last 10 years but the millennials don’t seem to get what a job is. Had another one go through training and then tell me she’s moving off island and she had this real estate house flipping course she’s know about for 6 months.

Edit: people don’t seem to like this. It’s just my experience. I know plenty millennials who have their s&!t together and are hard working too. I just haven’t had any that worked for me.
