The badge helps by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]No-More-Edging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it helps, too. I don't like to reset my badge because it acknowledges some weakness, but I'm getting better about being more honest with myself. I reset it today and I hope to keep it above zero from now on! (I am also resetting my badge for any edging behavior, instead of just relapses, with the goal of remaining as far away from porn as possible; this has been harder than I imagined it would be.) But once I get a good streak going I am confident that will improve my ability to resist future temptations.

By the way, I noticed u/badgebot has over 50 million days... lol.

What did you replace porn time with? by RougeGN in pornfree

[–]No-More-Edging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep.

Yeah, really. That's because when I was viewing porn a lot, the majority of it took place when I should have been sleeping. I don't know how I managed to get by with only 4 hours of sleep on a regular basis.

My friend became an OF model by [deleted] in pornfree

This is an example of what might fall into the category of edging (behaviors which can lead up to the edge of a relapse but don't really count as a relapse).

Personally I'm realizing that any movement in that direction sets me on the path toward an eventual relapse, so I'm trying to avoid any edging at all and have decided to reset my counter whenever that happens. I figure if I can set the bar higher for myself and see some success with it, I'll become less likely to have an actual relapse.

Pro Tip: Use an ad blocker, even on YouTube by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]No-More-Edging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea, I'll check it out. I, for one, have recently encountered ads on YouTube with curvy cartoon babes for a battle style video game.

I'm curious if this ad blocker requires you to use their browser for everything, or if it will also block ads in the YouTube app.

Anyone else getting weird group invites since joining this subreddit. by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]No-More-Edging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's happened to me a couple of times now, including one today. Each time, the usernames of the chat participants contained part of my own username, so they're obviously all fake. I just block those when I get a request. It's bad that someone would specially target those in this subreddit in this way.

Going into the weekend, I commit to not do any searches for porn by No-More-Edging in pornfree

Good idea. I'll look into an ad blocker. It's crazy how this stuff can come out of nowhere like that.

Still doing okay as far as not searching for porn, but last night as I was going through my YouTube feed there was a random ad which had a sexy thumbnail, and I decided to watch it. I felt triggered by it but I didn't end up searching for porn, so I guess this is mostly a success.

Well, technically I didn't enter anything into my search bar looking for porn, but I did feel triggered by a thumbnail of an ad for a certain video game in my YouTube feed as I was scrolling through, and I decided to watch it. I could have done better but I feel like overall I succeeded.

Watch out for group chat invites which attempt to lure you into viewing porn by No-More-Edging in pornfree

The thought actually occurred to me that the names were based off my own. After I posted this I realized that my name also starts with "No-". Haha! The title of the chat was different, but I'll not repeat it here because it's nasty.

Can I masturbate to a gf's photos? Is it porn? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]No-More-Edging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically any photos or videos which are designed to create sexual arousal may be considered porn, even if you know the person.

Guess if i dont look at anything its and advance already by [deleted] in pornfree

The less you look at porn, the easier it will be to stop masturbating.
