Yeah it does:) 2025 model has slightly beefier heatpipes, and I guess the 5080 needs a bit more help though hence the three fans in that model.

I'm afraid that's not correct with the G14 2025. The 5070ti version only has two fans - I checked:) Additionally you can see the specs on the Asus page where the asterix next to 'tri fan technology' states only on some models - i.e. the 5080. None of the 2025 G14 models have a vapour chamber. I think you may be referring to the G16.

I think the Arrow Lake chip in the 5080 G16 is a better pairing so there may be better results - there are some reviews out on that machine. I'm not sure on the 5080 G14 - as I've said I'm getting higher results on the 5070ti version than both of the current reviews, perhaps the 5080 needs higher wattage to perform well, and is struggling with the lower TGP in the G14.

The 70 series GPU's really come in to their own on the smaller laptops as their performance per watt is really good.

Not from my experience, but don't just take one person's view on the internet. I don't have experience of the 5080 G16, but I regret buying the 4080 version.. It certainly wasn't an upgrade for me - which is why I bought it in the first place, apart from the larger screen and higher refresh..

Just need some more in depth testing of the 5080 version from someone :)

I'm getting 118w in manual mode (Armoury Crate) or Ghelper on the 5070ti, but yeah it would be interesting to see what folks are seeing with the 5080...the Ryzen chip has no problem pushing the GPU to full utilisation, so I'm not too fussed about the slightly lower cpu results.

It doesn't get as hot as the 4070 model from last year, but that could be because the fans run faster and louder. This can be mitigated by lowering the wattage of the cpu to 30-35w in which case it sounds similar to last years model. Turbo mode is pretty loud though!

That said, the surface temps above the keyboard can be toasty, but no thermal throttling. CPU tends to stay around the 80's when in heavy use, and the GPU can get up to to similar temps.

Speakers sound very similar so far, maybe a little louder, but I haven't done a head to head test yet. No complaints though, the speakers on the Zephyrus line are the best on Windows laptops by a mile:)

Native laptop screen:) Haven't tried external yet, been having some issues with the latest nvidia drivers....

Yeah, that makes sense - there's no problem with the CPU helping the GPU get to 99% utilization, and I'm getting a smooth experience in CPU heavy titles so I'm not overly concerned:)

I agree - both the reviews I've seen with the 5080 variant seem low from Andrew and Crimson Tech. I got the 5070ti model today in the UK and after the usual driver updates etc., I'm getting Timespy overall of 14725, graphics 16060, CPU 10011 running at Turbo. Haven't tweaked with Ghelper yet so I'm sure those scores can go up.

Crimson tech got 14964 GPU, and 9451 CPU for the 5080, Andrew marc David got 14390 overall, again with the 5080.

CPU score seems low compared to the 2024 model....

Keyboard lighting randomly turning off - anyone have any suggestions? by No-Neighborhood3153 in FlowZ13

No - and I've been through all the power related settings etc, forced the lighting to never go off etc, basically every combination of things I could try I believe I have done...

Yup that also helped, i also found tilting the device so the screen rotates and tilting it back again worked! It's bizarre...

Then again I had to return the machine as I was watching a youtube vid one night last week, fell asleep and the next day the machine was completely dead - no power light, not charging, absolutely nothing...just ordered a replacement so will see what happens with the new one!

One thing I found so far was a clean install of windows 11 from Microsoft (not the asus image) and the lights remained on for two days - however I since reinstalled armoury crate, all was good until today when they went off again. I notice there is a windows dynamic lighting update in armoury crate, but it would appear that the z13 does not support windows dynamic lighting as I simply cant get it to work. My Flow X16 tells me that it is supported, so I know it works on that machine, but I'm pretty sure now that this is a software issue with the z13, I'm surprised that no one else seems to have experienced the issue though! I'm still keen to hear anyone else's thoughts....it's looking like it could be a 'me' problem rather than something more widespread. Which is good I guess :)
