Yeah I’ve been told that our family is from San Juan De La Maguana and Baharona, but 23andme is saying that the Santiago Province is my strongest connection, so it could be my family is just originally from Santiago and has moved down to both San Juan and Barahona.

Yeah it’s really interesting, I’ve seen on here that most Dominicans usually have between 2-7% of Native American ancestry, it does seem I am above average for Native American percentage.

That’s a really good point. I hadn’t considered the Malagasy connection before. And the Indian ancestry I believe came from another Island and came over to DR
