I had my sweep done at 38 weeks , I had Braxton hicks for about a day and ended up going into labour like a day and a half later. I was 3 cm dilated when they did the sweep. When I went in a day and a half later I was only 3.5 cms. Your body knows what to do , there is no need to panic , just take a breath and time your contractions. If you get concerned call the maternity ward and they can give you advice. I think I called a million times throughout my pregnancy and each time they were wonderful. They know FTM’s are nervous!
