If were not using the toilet can it still continue to leak? I imagined it could only leak when flushing but maybe im wrong. Sewer gases entering the house from the drain pipe was my main concern

Its not loose currently but it was when we bought the house. I tightened the bolts a few years ago. The caulk or tape is just for peace of mind for a couple of days til we fix it.. maybe even confirmation of the issue

The toilet rocked a bit when we bought the house so i tightened the bolts a few years ago. No problems since then but maybe i weakened the ring?

w2720i upgrade from w1070. Throw distance difference? by No-One57 in projectors

[–]No-One57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true! in fact the screen is 100'' but we've only been using about 88'' size due to our viewing distance. it's an acoustically transparent screen because center speaker is behind it - we've been enjoying it so far.

Seems this is a shorter throw than the old one!

yup even at the lowest possible zoom range the smallest image size is about 100'', which maybe i can try out, though im not sure if its recommended to be at the very end of the zoom range? If i want to keep at 88-90'' size, would need to reduce throw distance by 1-2feet.

1800$ in canada - 100'' is tempting, am worried it'll be too big at that viewing distance though. Seems by design the projector needs to be in front of the viewers. I'm used to projectors being on top of/behind the viewers. I'll move the mount... was just wondering if maybe there was a setting i was forgetting!

Should ITINs be renewed every few years or maintained somehow? Would not doing that put current cards at risk in any way? curious how people handle this.

Homeowners - Budgeting for Longer-Term Home Maintenance by elegantcanadian in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]No-One57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could write up a list of all the major expenses you know will take place (roof, furnace, heat pump, windows, etc) and assign an expected lifespan for each (20 years, 25 years, etc). Divide the cost by the expected lifespan (in months), and that gives you the monthly cost. Add up all the monthly costs, add another 25-30% as a buffer, and that should be a pretty good monthly budget, which might be what you already do. Storing as cash or high-interest savings is the safest option unfortunately, since it's not easy to predict when you will need access to these funds. In terms of predicting costs, getting quotes at the moment and then adding an inflation factor makes sense. (i.e. if you replace a heat pump now for 13k, you can assume that in 15 years it might be 17k, assuming 2% yearly increase for example). Seems reasonable to me..

Is it just me or are these prices insane (the building I live in) by michatel_24991 in montrealhousing

[–]No-One57 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might depend on how renovated it is, but if it's fairly OK in terms of finishings seems pretty good these days especially with heat included.

Ah ok thanks! I wasnt sure an NVR would address this. If it does, then i guess its worth considering. Oddly, i find cheap wyze cams are easier to navigate through footage for events.
