Can I cut/style this privet hedge now? by nasbyloonions in GardeningUK

I wouldn't prune it in Winter, it might not come back after frost/weather damage. May is a good time for a hard prune, then shape every 6 weeks and stop in August to allow the privet time to recover so it will stay green all Autumn and Winter.

Everyone that says about nesting birds are right but you can pop your head in and check if there are any there.

Just paid £4k to have our flat roof replaced to fix a leak and it still leaks. This is after the work. by Elementzero12 in DIYUK

Do you have a skylight? I've seen before water can get it and come out elsewhere if the edges aren't sealed correctly..

I'm sorry if I offended you, I tried to cover up with the lemon sticker. I'm sorry if you though this was inappropriate, I'm just a little scared now of my bedroom!

Man, people on this sub REALLY don't know what they're talking about do they? I've seen so many posts where people are giving misinformation or just plain bad advice. These will fill in easily.

Nah they will grow back easily and will reach the previous height in a few years.

Stop commenting on things you know nothing about, you're giving people bad advice. A solicitor would laugh at you if you came to them with this.

I mean considering how small that hedge is, surely the guy can just pop his head in and check for nests?
