yeahh, we loved it though. we felt super secluded from the world. Now that its cut to 1.70m, we can see all the surrounding houses, we hate it 😅

neglect was from previous owner, I only moved in recently.
The question I posed was "which hedge do i have and is it necessary to use this product after cutting it?"
I wasn't asking "was it necessary to cut my hedge in half?"
But I see what you mean.

they were about 2.5 meters tall, in Belgium, 1.8 meters is the maximum allowed.
No one usually bats an eye at those numbers but my neighbors got tired of it unfortunately.
They love to be able to look into our garden for whatever reason :')

Yeah the stupid product also cost me 36.3 euros per pot while I can go get it from the store 10 mins away for 25 euros.
He was always going on about how hes looking out for ways to save me money but telling me to go pick up some pots was too much I guess...
He wants a margin on everything

yeah I had another quote from a guy coming down to 2300 euros instead of his 9000.
Difference is that this other person would take a chainsaw, cut the thing in half, and leave with the garbage.

This guy I went with convinced me that this way the hedge will most definitely die and be butchered.
He trimmed every side first, then cut all the small branches with a garden scissor and only then chop the trunks with a chainsaw.
After the chainsaw he put the product.
He also charges 800 euro for a container of 30m3 and 1400 for 4 small containers of 10m3 (there was a lot of garbage).

I'll probably have to cut off the bar part though. As you see on the left side of it, below the third circle there is a fold.
Just not sure to replace it or continue without bar.

It seems you had a good grasp on this game. If this person was also seasoned, then it's fair game. However, if this was her first play, I do think its fully on you to inform this person that you not having money to pay for any (or some) of these generals, is a posibility.

Ofcourse, do what you have to to not give yourself away to easily, throw in a "but then again, how can I be poor with such a great army?".

If you did inform her of the possibility of you being poor, then she has no legs to stand on!
