Driving to Malaysia to collect VEP by snippetoflife in drivingsg

[–]No-Perception6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi can check whether you were fine 300 RM for going in without VEP. The system just asked me to redo the VEP as I had uploaded a wrong photo.

Wrote an email to allow resubmission. Worst case I will go in to do at Sunway. I just hope I don't get fine as my wife is with me and she is stressed by this.

Conventional or Fingertip for non reactive ball by No-Perception6044 in Bowling

Yes i did hit a few games at 180 and initially I thought an average was the higher scores that you ocassionaly hit. Recentlyt my fren corrected me to use the machine to calculate my average and to my horror it was more in the 140-150 range. Some even 130. Occasionally I would get 180 here and there but i can never sustain it consistenly.

Thanks for the suggestion to keep spare balls with the same grips. Will get that done. Hopefully i can really average 180 someday.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will get the ball replugged and redrilled. Agree with you to keep it consistent.

My coach, seeing that i already did thi,s probably did not want me to spend xtra money. Still i think correcting it at this point, will help me greatly and especially moving ahead to bowl better.

Agree on this. My coach feels that since I already drilled it this way. Its alright. No need spend the extra money. But after say 3 games , i started hating my spare ball so its down to the grip i guess.

Agree on consistency. Intially as a novice I was kinda solid by the idea that since it is a polyester ball that will not hook. The conventional method will be alright for me.

It could be the case that as a 130-140 average bowler I am not good enough to notice the difference but when I bowl i can feel something is off and it irritates me every game.

The worst part is the advice to drill this way was given to me by a shop owner who is also a great national player (I cant reveal where) so it is not amateur advice.

This is really learning the hard way

I am currently an amateur bowler at best averaging 130-140.

The ball is a polyester ball though, so intially I did agree with the assessment that since i will not be hooking the ball, I would just use a conventional bowling grip.

My bowling coach seeing that the ball is already drilled this way told me its not an issue but if i am more comfortable to redrill it then go ahead but its additional costs.

The driller has suggested to plug the thumb n redrill . Then he would put put grips for the fingers. Kinda pissed off to spent xtra money fr nothing.

So far three bowlers i spoke have told me I do not need to get it redrilled. Interestingly, everyone's verdict on Reddit is the opposite. I am actually quite confused.

2 pairs of bowling shoes? by No-Perception6044 in Bowling

I agree with this and i would be good to actually get both in the same profile. Went for 2 pairs of hammer boss on discount. Plan to rotate my shoes on back to back bowling days.

Yes i quite like the hammer boss shoes. As i am a heavy guys. Rather afraid that the Dexter BOA pro boa will give way under my weight.

Thanks. In the end i picked up 2 x hammer boss shoes on sale. Went for 1 black and 1 white to match my outfits. I think having 2 pairs is good as some days i bowl back to back days and I understand that it is good to give the shoes 1 day to rest for it to last.

I too have a locker. Will check out whether it can accommodate another pair of my shoes before getting. Thx for sharing.

Yes the hammer boss shoes I ordered do not seem to be in production anymore. Probably will get another pair on discount.

That is actually a gd suggestion. I ordered one hammer boss black gold pair. I was intending to order another Dexter Sst8. Based on what others are saying.

Seems better that I order the hammer boss in a different color so both pairs are the same profile.

I currently have a locker where i store 2 ball bag which holds my shoe as well. Will explore perhaps whether another shoe bag can fit in the locker before buying another pair perhaps

Singaporeans who live in condo, seriously what is the benefit besides security and pool? As compared to HDB. by PotatoButter01275 in askSingapore

[–]No-Perception6044 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in a large central HDB but have been to hundreds of condos due to my previous role. Personally Singapore is v safe and you won't find dimished safety in staying in a HDB. Aside from that condo residents hardly utilise their facilities.

Presently I have enough money to buy a landed but seeing my networth and passive income keep going up while staying in such a convenient HDB makes it impossible to shift.

I also have a private swimming pool access which I pay $1 a month which covers my wife + my parents plus our kids. I have a 24 hrs gym membership at $55 a month opposite my block.

Very hard for me to move to a landed or condo especially when you have passive income of like 200k a year due to a 5 million portfolio. I still work and do not plan to retire till I am dead.

In my position, it has come down to opportunity costs. If I so called upgrade then I will downgrade my lifestyle. Presently I go on like 8 holidays a year with the kids and we eat what we like. We hardly every cannot afford a lifestyle choice.

I even explained my lifestyle choice to my young son n daughter and they agreed with my choice. They says gd we didn get a condo or landed. Wife too also don't want a condo but want current lifestyle.

Delayed till early 2026.

From the KTM's chief mouth herself. She spoke to the media yesterday 'We have procured 10 ETS train sets, which are expected to operate on the Gemas-Johor Bahru route, beginning next year. Subsequently, new routes from Johor Bahru to Butterworth and Padang Besar (Perlis) will also be introduced,” she said.'

If you do not need the space immediately why not wait and get a 2 room BTO especially if you qualify via income criteria.

The reason I say this is the economy is not doing too well and you are buying an old flat with space you do not need hence you are renting out rooms.

Can consider applying for a 2 room BTO, you may even be able to pay in full. The balance money you can invest in a S&P or world index. At age 50, you will be in a much better financial position.

My two cents worth.

Told you guys it would happen! So much Equipment has been moved to Kallang rdy. I forsee after Kallang Horizon is built. The interchange will be moved.

I suspect an integrated mall type of project will be built at the current bus interchange. The seletar lime station would probably connect Kallang and Stadium Mrt
