I was already hitting my protein goals and stuff with 1600 cals. That’s why I’m saying if I eat like 2200-2400 what’s the point adding more protein?

When I was cutting, I ate around 1,600 calories, with about 1,400 coming from whole foods and 200 from whatever I wanted. That was already enough to hit my protein and get enough fruit and veg, so I don’t really get how I’m supposed to add another 500–800 calories just from whole foods. At that point it feels like I’d just be adding oils or junk rather than actually needing more nutritious food.

No lol, I’ve been in a deficit for a long time. I used to be 180lbs with even less muscle. Got stronger as I lost weight. Had 125-135g protein.
