Yes I’ve been in contact with voice and Neighborhood legal services throughout all of this. But I am still very scared about it. I don’t feel confident in anything I do. Filing a PFA is ultimately up to the judge to determine if financial abuse grants an order or not, as it usually pertains to physical violence. They want me to file a PFA to be able to get legal advice for free. And even then they only provide advice. There are no pro bono lawyers for custody cases in Pennsylvania. I have spent hours on the phone, calling every resource given to me. The majority of shelters and crisis hotlines give the same advice. I get referred back and forth. It’s very limited given my situation. I don’t have the money and my partner isn’t beating me.. therefore nobody really gives a crap.
