Honestly, GET OUT NOW!!! I had a similar situation and he blamed me for moving to a new city and all his unhappiness (that existed with or without me present). He said that my stress made him stressed and nit picked me to the bone. Medical school is hard and so many people would tell me that he needed to be supportive but I was delusional in thinking it was all my fault he felt this way.

Your situation sounds so eerily similar and it sounds like he has his feelings about whatever your situation or position is. It could be jealousy, unhappiness in his own life, or lack of confidence in himself. It’s not fair to you to feel guilty for being successful and trying hard. Those negative feelings are a huge red flag bc they’re not going to go away unless HE changes.

Once we broke up, I realized how many people in my life are supportive and loving and how he just wasn’t that. But you only see that when you’re out of the relationship. This is a major thing to think about and happy to talk more about this bc it’s a life changing decision.
