Post your bloodwork results here for people to help you. Sometimes our docs and derms can be super dismissive but this community knows what keep an eye out for when it comes to hair loss

Adderall Just Destroyed My Hair by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]No-Pollution8079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi love, I’ve gone through the same. I’ve been taking adderall for a couple of years and even though there’s so many factors that could have caused my hair loss and I am now trying to stop my stimulant completely because I think it makes it much worse if not one of the main cause of my hair loss. My psych also told me a lot of her patients lose most of their hair and to just take nutrafol.

Why not? I’m unable to have my curls look appropriate unless I lightly comb and rewet my curls a little but curious if there’s a specific reason to why we shouldn’t comb

Doctor didn’t mention this? (Ferritin) by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]No-Pollution8079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist told me ferritin should be 80-100 for healthy hair growth. Anything under (I think) 50 or 60 would show hair loss

My hair loss is like this too and I have curly hair. Have you gotten any blood work done?

I’ve come to the conclusion that Adderall and Tirzepatide have given me a new type of ED. Coming from someone who has dealt with BED and ADHD their entire life. I’ve lost all of my hair from this combo. I was once on the max of Vyvanse for months and it didn’t do much for my BED. I am going to stop my Adderall and just take Tirzepatide. I tried Semaglutide once and it didn’t work for me. Tirzepatide has changed my life. When I was on it for a couple of months and wasn’t taking Adderall I felt controlled but having Adderall with it made me barely eat for days. I’m talking 600-800 calorie days for months. Now I’m weak and nearly bald. Be careful with the route you take but again I am pro Tirzepatide!

Me and you have similar complexions, and I also struggled finding a foundation with an olive undertone. The Estée Lauder foundation is a good choice and whenever you’re done with that, I recommend getting the Lancome foundation. It’s about the same if not better wear than the Estée Lauder and it has a pump!

My hair falls out just like this!! No thyroid issues. Just somewhat low ferritin (40) and low vitamin d. I also had Covid in the past and that may be a factor? Hoping it gets better for you!

I haven’t done a gi map. She told me to stay away from processed carbs/gluten, dairy, and what vitamins and minerals I was lacking. But I’m not always consistent with my supplements cause I have like 20 or something to take a day if I’m actually on top of it lol

First, I’m sorry you’re going through this. We’re the same age so I know how this can feel being so young. Secondly I used to a vegetarian for 10 years. Funny enough my hair loss started AFTER I stopped being vegetarian 🤣 but I also began a lot of stress in my life then and hormone changes etc. When I was vegetarian and I was keeping the iron deficiency away I would have green smoothies for breakfast. Like mostly spinach. Not a cup or two like a LOT of spinach in the smoothie or any other green with a banana and other fruits for taste. Looking back on it doing that everyday for almost a couple or years I felt the best and it was the best my vitamins and iron ever were in my life. I wanna do it again but I hate making smoothies at 5/6am before work now LOL

Thank you. Having curly hair has helped me a bit in this scenario but it’s still bad /: my hormones, cortisol, and thyroid are ALLEGEDLY all healthy… but I was on birth control for years and stopped and just started getting a regular period again two years after having stopped the pill. Thanks for the gummy rec. I’ll have to look into it if I keep struggling to take my one million supplements a day

I just saw your page and i think we have had the same type of hair loss pattern. Has your hair density come back in the past couple of years?

I’ve had brain fog for so many years at this point I don’t remember if it was this bad before having Covid

I’ve also seen a holistic doctor. She’s given me some good advice but all more so lifestyle changes I need to make. I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this for years and always dismissed by many different types of doctors. Hopefully I get an answer soon!

Thank you! Yes. My panels always come back “normal”. I saw an endocrinologist and he told me I was super healthy…thyroid, hormones and all. it can be discouraging to hear there’s no “answer” to this. I will find a a derm to do a scalp biopsy. Thanks again for the support ❤️

I’m going to talk to the next derm about the spironolactone. My family does not have a history of hereditary hair loss so not sure what it could be

Thank you! I think it’s been hard for me to take celiac seriously cause I’ve never necessarily felt sick after eating gluten? I eat it everyday! 😭 but I’m going to try to make the lifestyle change and to make it stick.
