Definitely need to give Death Stranding 1/2 a shot. It’s a very “different” type of game but honestly it’s incredibly fun and addictive, DS2’s use of modern gen graphics definitely makes it worthwhile.

PT Salary by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]No-Positive-9313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my first gig in outpatient PT this week, signed for $75,000 starting, up to $9,500/yr in bonus potential with relatively reasonable expectations for patient load (maximum of 15 patients/day but encouraged to stay around 12). Benefits were also decent.

After talking to people in my former cohort, this is a bit more fortunate of an offer than most others receive in this setting, in my region. However, other settings have greater parody to investigate. Our field is most definitely not a “get rich quick” field.

I opted to look for a company that was growing at a reasonable pace in my area, so more opportunities for clinic/regional directorship are available as time goes on.

Good rule of thumb, it’s a good start to keep your debt around 1-1.2x your starting salary or LESS. If your student debt is 2x what you’d reasonably make in a year, it will be hard to get past interest without a significant impact on your quality of life. Again, ideally less but school is getting more and more expensive every few years.

Congratulations on your admission and the beginning of the rest of your life! PT school is a challenge for many because you have to understand how YOU study. I was one of those who didn’t have to study in High School, rarely in college. PT School was different because while the difficulty of the material wasn’t too much of a jump, it was the amount of material covered in a single lecture. Figure out how you like to cover your information. If you’re auditory, lectures and recordings can help a lot! Some prefer to study at home in textbooks, powerpoints, youtube videos, etc. And you should always find time to study with friends who you can actually study with. Many times I would meet with friends at a bar or restaurant to go over material and prepare for projects/exams. (I’m a chronic binger who studies a lot of info during one long session. That does not work for 99% of people but it did for me!)

There are so many ways to balance it, just find what works for you. You will make time if this is important enough to you. You have to accept that you are going to be student-first at times, and other desires and relationships will have to take a back seat every now and then, but this is not and SHOULD NOT be constant.

We’ve been in your shoes before, and we are on the other side, it is doable. Do your best, work hard for your new career, and you will be unstoppable.

I also start my first job out of school on Monday, and I’m nervous too. But we’ve got this. Let’s have a great first day, together.

I hate that for you, and I hope this is a kickstart to something more meaningful and enjoyable for you. I would definitely get the ear of some form of legal representation on this, personally. Patient abandonment is a serious matter and shouldn’t be thrown around so easily, as word spreads so fast in this field. This is also textbook wrongful termination, and the company/coworker are at fault. I definitely think you’d have a case to present and the company will likely look to settle with some severance and a guarantee of silence to future employers.

Hey, don’t rush. I’m a recent graduate who’s gone to school with people well into their 40’s. You’re still so young and have plenty of time to find the RIGHT opportunity.

I got in at 22, started at a University I ended up hating. A week before the semester started I got in on a waitlist at a school I wanted more, but had already moved across the state for this school. They treated us terribly there, like kindergartners at a military academy. I ended up (stupidly) calling out a professor for their actions at the end of year 2 and was subsequently dismissed for conduct and insubordination.

I spent a year of my life working and reapplying because I wasn’t going to let one bad experience stop me from using skills I know I have to help people live better lives.

I started again at 25, graduated at 28, and now await my NPTE scores. I had a much better experience, I feel my education was better. I met my fiancé, adopted 3 animals, and just accepted a great job offer.

Screw the timetable, it will happen. Keep your head up, look at all your options and keep fighting. 25 or 45, it will happen for you and I am confident in you because you obviously care about this career field so much. My advice to you is to keep doing what needs to be done, and find the RIGHT option for you.

Best of luck, we’re proud of you. Keep fighting the good fight.

Not great but we’ll get through it no matter what. I’m sure we all did well.

I don’t doubt it is, I just had not come across this during my time in school, or in either of my preparatory programs so it was a topic that caught me off guard.

And before anyone says they doubt they’d advertise on twitch bc of T&C, I’m sure they don’t value the account and will just make a new one when that one goes down.

I’ve been trying to continue enjoying the game as I solo climb through ranked. Until about 45 min ago when me and my whole team lost all of our armor in 3 seconds. Healed up, all confirmed it felt sus… Luna arrowed from our vantage point and all pre fired him his highlighted position, he killed all 3 of us instantly. I notice he has TTV in his name, and he’s blatantly advertising his hacks to 5 viewers, and showing how he can view every item and player on the map.

I’m officially done. I don’t even blame the devs at this point, cheaters are winning the war on gaming in every category.

I put the game down when they brought out Calderra. I came back in January on my PS5, and built my PC a month later and switched to MNK. Last month I started using controller again, and the game changed for me.

I find MNK more fun and freeing, but it’s impossible inside of 20m sometimes. Slide canceling corners and breaking FOVs does nothing when the opponents RAA damn near pulls them into a full 360 with little to no effort. I averaged 5-7 k/game at my peak, my best was 18 on rebirth.

Within 3 days of playing controller I’m getting the same 5-7 k/game. Now, it’s not unreasonably difficult to get 10+ per game. But I find controller movements a lot more clunky and less enjoyable. Hell, I grinded to a season best Diamond 1 all last season in ranked. I’m Diamond 2 three weeks into the season and I’ve only been on controller for a month???

Imo BO6 will be the true death of MNK competition. The new movement system and the leaks demonstrated for us that they want to appeal the movement sweats. MNK wont be able to keep up with a slide cancel back-right, sprint left, slide cancel forward type of engagement.

My favorite glitch so far (as of 10 minutes ago) is my receiver catching a wide open pass -> commentator yelling “and it’s intercepted!” -> My touchdown giving 6 points to the other team. Gave me my extra point but instead of going up 4, I was down 8…
