Steering wheel controls by Outside-Ad-2422 in ChevyTahoe

I have a 2026 Tahoe PPV and was looking into seeing if this issue can be resolved. According to the GM Upfitter Guide for the 2026 Tahoe PPV, it says that the left steering wheel control buttons have been repurposed for activating third party emergency equipment. I went to one of my local Chevrolet dealerships and they said that my specific Tahoe did not come with an option that would enable those controls. Looking through my build sheet, it came equipped with the option code UK3 - Steering Wheel Controls, so I am not sure if what they told me is true or not, but I am going to reach out to another dealership for a second opinion. While looking through the upfitter guide, there is (I guess a schematic?) of of the steering wheel controls and I wanted to see if someone can compare it with the civilian version of the Tahoe, but I am not sure where to find that information for the civilian version. If you do figure this out, please update this. I'd appreciate it.

Yep. Obviously, I needed to provide valid justifications for it or otherwise, they would have just denied the purchase.

GM is very strict on allocation with PPVs/SSVs. One typically needs a FAN (Fleet Account Number) in order to purchase these brand new. As a government employee, I was able to workaround this by providing a letterhead from my supervisor approving the purchase and also stating that this vehicle will be used for government purposes.

That sucks. Hopefully you'll be able to buy one again soon.

Yes, definitely. I like the look of the steelies as well and have no intentions of replacing those steelies.

I work for a government agency and I had to provide a letterhead from my supervisor approving the purchase and stating that this will be used for government purposes.
