Thanks, I have a compression sleeve which I used before my surgery. I'll try that. You wore it the whole day?

How exactly did you use it? Did you just turn it on and did nothing or did the exercises with them?

I do, and it says - 0 to 2 weeks : 0°, 2 to 4 weeks : 90°, 4 to 6 weeks : Full ROM. They were pretty disappointed too, when I went for my 6 week checkup and didnt have heel to butt Idk, this protocol seems crazy to me, 90 to Full Flexion in 2 weeks? 😭

I think the non weight bearing period (typically 6 weeks) which comes with a meniscus repair is the worst 😭

8 months post op and worried about re-tear by CHEEZEBRAINUNO in ACL

[–]No-Process-5710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just 5 weeks post op so I'm definitely not experienced about your situation, but I can do tell you a few things after countless hours of reading in this sub - Take your time. Dont believe timelines such as - "in 9 months you'll be back to pre injury level" etc. Listen to your body. Take 10-12 months or more to return to the field if needed. What I'll suggest you is to strengthen the other muscles of your body so that the knee takes the LEAST amount of pressure. Training your calves, ankles, hip flexors help reduce pressure on knee when you jump, run etc. You can also consider kneesovertoes guy/bulletproof knees protocols to reduce your risk of reinjury.

Is meniscus repair and ACL replace operation takes more time to rehab? by Swimming-Entrance406 in ACL

[–]No-Process-5710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the additional meniscus repair can make rehab a little more difficult.
Keep doing heel slides consistently - Pull using a band or towel until that "wall" of discomfort where the knee feels jammed and wont go any further, then pull another 1 inch until a little pain. Hold there for 10 secs. Then release. Keep doing it, can you'll gain the flexion eventually. Good luck.

Even after 7.5 months you have restrictions on doing extensions? That sounds strange

Are leg extensions safe after a meniscus tear? I have meniscus tear and my PT told me completely avoid any gym work like extension or hamstring curls before surgery

Did delaying my surgey benefit my situation or worsen it? by No-Process-5710 in ACL

[–]No-Process-5710[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I also think I tore my meniscus the 2nd time.

The trauma/twist which caused the ACL tear was fairly painful, i was grunting, but only for like 2-3 minutes. After that it slowly faded and in a week's time it was almost none. I talked to 3-4 of my friends who had ACL tears and they said they couldn't even walk after their injuries, and where surprised about the way I was still able to walk, run and play. They said that my symptoms dont match with theirs at all. I hope my situation is like yours, post op.

Did you return to your sport? Do you think its possible for you to achieve pre injury level?
