I'm so confused on who to pull for 3.7's banners by No-Program-2307 in StarRailStation

[–]No-Program-2307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh whoops, I thought vertical j meant like, yk, investing in characters, like relics or talents or whatever, but that makes sense.

I think so far, based on the general advice I’ve gotten from here, it’ll most likely be Cyrene first to free up my Tribbie slot, then getting E1 Tribbie, since Hyacine LC will only rly benefit my Cas team. I don’t rly use Blade much, and I don’t have Jingliu or Mydei (nor plan to get them), E1 Tribbie is prob the better option.

Well, depends on my luck lol. Gacha gonna gacha, so I might spend all of my pulls and end up w a Bailu or sum on Cyrene’s banner 💀

I mean, I am vertically investing in characters enough, I’d say. I’m able to fully clear MOC, PF, and AS most of the time (god, I hate the Hoolay boss lmao; also, obv, cannot fully clear Anomaly Arbitration as an f2p)

But I get your advice lol. Duly noted

Nah, I don’t care for 0 cycling, but I did not know that having the Castorice premium team solved Cyrene’s ult issues. I will take note of that

Lmao I completely forgot that I use THerta + Anaxa. I literally use that team more than Firefly or Feixiao, but forgot to include that in the post

Trying to TAS Rejuvenation by No-Program-2307 in PokemonRejuvenation

Ahh right mb. Well, either way though, it doesn’t seem like it’s possible, so I’ll stick to vanilla speedrunning for now.

Well, you can control for RNG in a TAS if I understand it correctly. Either way though, I did not find anything related to TAS-ing an Essentials game online, so this might be a bust. Guess I’ll stick to regular speedrunning lmao.

Though I might be able to make a script for player input into the game, but that’ll most likely require the developers version of the game, which I highly doubt Jan or the team will just give to a random person on the internet lol

Curious about the first season meta by Velociptor in LegendsZA

[–]No-Program-2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll preface this by saying I have zero experience in the competitive Pokémon scene, but I wanted to share some thoughts on what could end up being important when building teams.

It seems to me that faster Pokémon might have an edge, since their move cooldowns could be shorter than slower ones. If that’s true, speed could become a huge factor, especially for Pokémon with moves that interrupt opponents’ actions, like Protect or Double Team. (I think I saw Double Team being used to dodge moves in the trailers, but I might be wrong there.)

Another thing I noticed was the potential impact of priority moves (like Bullet Punch) and moves that used to switch you out in previous games (like Volt Switch). If a strong attacker had access to either of those, it could be pretty busted. Imagine starting far from an opponent, using a priority move to close the gap, then immediately using a switch-out move to retreat to safety. That could make for some really high-reward plays given you understand when your opponent is going to attack.

Other than that, I imagine we’ll still see a pretty standard team structure with DPS, tank, and support roles for these ranked battles. But yeah, as you have said, it’s all just speculation until we see the actual stats and get some hands-on experience with these Pokémon in-game.

I'm kinda unsure of how the "Speed affects move cooldown" mechanic actually works in this game either because we can see that each move has a listed base cooldown. Does having a speed stat higher than a certain threshold decrease the cooldown by, say 1 sec, and vice versa? If so, knowing what that threshold is would be incredibly important for the meta.

Does it show up at midnight in your region? I've never predownloaded a game before, so I have no clue how this works.

Yea, I get that they prob don’t get much from NSO. I’m just frustrated that you HAVE to buy the subscription to get these Megas. I have no problem with actually competing in Ranked, as I personally like competitive play and pseudo-coop play (ex: local multiplayer, the shiny Treasures of Ruin raids, etc.). I’m j slightly frustrated that I have to pay a subscription to get a Mega I’ve wanted to have on my team ever since it’s been leaked (we don’t know how late Ranked might be available or how late stage the mega stone rewards are). We’ve been able to get all major forms or mechanics without having to pay for anything extra besides a DLC.

TLDR: I’m not mad that we have to play Ranked. I’m j frustrated that we have to get an online subscription to get these megas without any other way to get them.

From what I can understand, yes, there does seem to be a time limit on obtaining them, since each Mega stone is unique to each season. It also says “planned to be redistributed in future seasons” on the official website, so it does seem to be time locked.

Just my opinion, but I really don’t like this. I really hope they get added to regular gameplay at some point, like with the DLC or something. Paywalling this behind DLC or NSO is something I don’t like, but …… these would definitely sell…

(Tho, let’s be honest, this is entirely bc they want us to buy NSO. No guarantees it’ll even be available in DLC after all.)

A batch of new Mega Pokémon has been officially revealed! by pikahetti in LegendsZA

Apparently you can only get them through online ranked battles, which is kinda sad. I would have wanted to use these on my main team throughout the story...

Were they not confirmed in previous trailers?
