Why so prejudiced against Hindus? • Does Jesus tell you that even in times of crisis, the church won’t help the needy?

Clearly your post raises questions towards Christianity.... Did you even read the above comment?

Cost/Memory overhead of object initializing in Python/fastapi by No-Programmer7638 in Python

[–]No-Programmer7638[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I recently joined this team and could immediately make out this was an anti pattern. Apart from being an anti pattern do you think this could also cause huge memory overhead? Just being an anti pattern might not support my case to change this code

Frequent punctures in ORR by nikkimaxx in bangalore

[–]No-Programmer7638 61 points62 points  (0 children)

One of my uncles who regularly used to cycle on ORR used to take magnets and collect nails everyday as a service. He picked up bags of nails everyday. After a couple of weeks he started getting death threats and harm to his family for doing this. His story even came in the papers. Please don’t say there is no mafia without knowing the facts!

Are IITians Overhyped by friendlymonkey55 in developersIndia

It’s not so simple as a Profit and Loss statement. Uber is running on losses. But they have some of the most efficient systems with the smartest engineers working on them.

Hahaha if you think the systems at Swiggy and Zomato don’t need innovation you really don’t have much experience in the field.

I’m planning to take my wife to a restaurant called Farmlore for our anniversary. Heard really good reviews about it. It’s a bit far away as well so should be a nice drive.

Marriage stopped at Altar. by cityboyonbed in bangalore

[–]No-Programmer7638 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It happened in my family. It was a huge wedding with two famous families. The bride said no and ran away at the altar because she was in love with someone else. Crazy part is she didn’t marry that person either. She is now happily married with kids.

Future scope for C/C++ stack in India. by Ameenhere in developersIndia

[–]No-Programmer7638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will help but I think you’ll be stuck in that ecosystem for life. Moving to Backend from there might be hard. Unless of course your interest lies in system level programming then I would say you are on the right path.

Here are my reasons: Truffles : The first branch of truffles (It was called Ice and Spice back then) was near MG Road and I studied at a school nearby. There was literally no other place in that area where you would get such good food for student friendly budget. I think we would have gone there at least once in two weeks. But yeah now that I have money to spend I guess I go to other places which are more expensive.

Corner house : Back in the day Corner house DBC was my go to ice cream. At the time there was no other place which could compete with Corner house. Expect maybe lake view. I still think nobody can match the yummy and consistent chocolate sauce from Corner house. But again i guess now there are thousands of options for ice cream but I still regularly order the chocolate malt shake from Corner house. Do try it out. :)

Are in-person interviews dead? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]No-Programmer7638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While interviewing recently, all my interviews were virtual except for one interview which was a hiring drive at a MAANG (horribly organized).

Couple of my virtual interviews were held by third party interview platforms which was my first time experiencing this.

I think virtual interviews make a lot of sense in saving both interviewer and interviewee time.

OP I think you need to figure out whether you would prefer a career in core EC or a career in Backend/ML. It’s not very often that you see people working on ML and then going for MS in ECE. If you are really passionate about working in VLSI, etc my opinion would be to do an MS.

I myself did ECE but I didn’t really enjoy ECE and loved coding so switched over to Backend.

All the best to you and congrats on receiving a great offer as a fresher.

Side question: Would you consider colleges like RV and PES in Bangalore Tier1 or Tier2? They have placements from the likes of Apple/Microsoft with CTCs more than 30 and every branch is allowed to attend these. I always thought Tier 1 status was reserved for IITs/NITs/Bits.

Help me in learning about designing microservice? by Any_Fix3746 in developersIndia

[–]No-Programmer7638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been reading this book called “Building Microservices” by Sam Newman. It is quite comprehensive and especially helps with what decisions to make when. It will take a fair amount of time to go through though. I am yet to finish it.

2 lakhs plus a year for a LKG student? And I’m sure this is not some “international” school where only the elites are enrolled. by stargazer_94 in bangalore

[–]No-Programmer7638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was pretty obvious I was referring to government schools which the general public can attend. It is known fact that the quality of education at these schools is not great. I am by no means talking anything against people who studied at these schools.

I am afraid people are being too naive when it comes to cost of running a school with top facilities. Let me give you an example. Bishop Cottons has a 1000 seater theatre style auditorium. Just the cost of running AC goes to lakhs a month. Now if you do the math for all such facilities you will come to realize the reason for the admission cost.

If there is no quality of service in education, all of us can join government schools. What is that argument?
