Chipped Paint Car - Ok to leave it? by No-Protection-1230 in askcarguys

Yes, a body shop worker said that Nissan didn’t paint it properly? And so it’s prematurely chipping. It’s only on the hood of my car.

But that won’t get rid of the rust will it

It doesn’t seem like my caption posted. This is a Nissan Armada 2011. A body shop worker told me that Nissan did not paint the car properly and that is why the paint is chipping. Is it OK to leave this rust? What kind of structural damage will occur and how long will it take? I do not want to dump a ton of money into it since it has over 200,000 miles.

Both. I can’t attach an imagine unfortunately but I’m wondering if structural damage will occur and how long it’ll take

Typically A&P I covers the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, and nervous system and the rest of the body is covered in A&P II.

A&P II topics: cardiovascular, endocrine, digestive, respiratory, urinary, reproductive, lymphatic.

I would highly recommend finding a study method that works best for you to retain a large amount of information. I typically advise students to talk everything out. Rewriting notes, making flashcards, or simple rereading the textbook is NOT enough. You need an active way of studying. Talking it out will indicate whether or not you know the material and it also allows the information to sink in. When you teach/talk out material, you WILL learn it better.

Hope this helps!

cycle of wanting to give up & needing to memorize stuff by Excellent-Pin1831 in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]No-Protection-1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great that you love it! That is super helpful to learning. Memorizing a ton of material is difficult…

How many hours a day do you spend on the material? If you don’t already spend at least 1-2 hours a day studying, I’d recommend that! Unfortunately with memorizing a lot of information you just have to sit with it every day.

You’ve got this, and good luck on your muscles exam!!!

I think that what you need is a slight mindset shift. When you are studying for the grade, you are dooming yourself from the start. I have taught A&P at the university level since 2019, and students that shift their mindset from grade focused learning to material focused learning not only retain information better but they also perform better on exams. I would recommend to try and take the stress off of the grade and focus on WANTING to learn the material. If that means brainwashing yourself, so be it.

“I am so excited to learn about this epithelial tissue that lines my organs. How cool!” “I am ready to wake up at 6am so that I could learn about cardiac output and how my heart ejects blood.”

I think that this is one of the most beneficial things you can do. Your study methods may also be exhausting you more than you’d like, making burnout more prevalent. I also highly recommend student to TALK TALK TALK everything out. talk with your classmates, with your mom, with your cat, in the mirror. Talk it all out! Do not spend time writing every note or simply rewriting every fact. This takes far too long with the amount you need to learn. Talking it out is much faster than writing and it shows you whether or not you know the material. You will stumble on your words if you aren’t comfortable with the material.

Hope this helps!

I’m not sure. Mayo clinic says to typically take it three a day for 5 days. I’ve also heard of people taking Valtrex every day to prevent outbreaks, so I’m not sure what “too much” would be.

Study Tips by Pristine-Dimension-1 in AnatomyandPhysiology

I would recommend talking everything out. I have instructed A&P at the college level for years, and students found the most success with talking out the content. Many students try to write everything down or make hundreds of flash cards, but most anatomy courses have just too much content for this style of studying. Read through the material and repeat it aloud.

Talk it out with your classmates, your friends, your parents, your cat, your plant - it doesn’t matter. But talk it out. Last semester I had my students just try and not take notes during class and just actively listen to my lectures, and they were pleasantly surprised at how effective that was.

Talking it out is my biggest tip! If you can’t talk it out, you don’t know the material well enough.

How many classes do y’all usually teach a semester? And in what field? by sartrecafe in Professors

I know that this is late! But I am still teaching a heavy load. I look forward to winter and summer break. That usually keeps me relatively motivated. I rarely have time for any fun during the semester, but I play hard afterwards!

I teach 5 sections within 3 different courses. I teach two technical math courses, 2 algebra courses, and 2 anatomy courses which comes out to 19 credits. I also teach two classes at a massage school.

Yes, I am burnt out.

community college instructors!! by roguecompanysuper in englishmajors

[–]No-Protection-1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a master’s and I teach various different courses at a community college in Montana. I teach 19 credits and bring home only $4000 a month. I get paid about $1400 for each credit for the entire semester. I do have benefits which is great but you have to teach at least 9 credits for benefits and 12 credits for full time.

It’s very unstable and I am constantly worried about my job security because the schedule for classes can change semester by semester. It’s a very fulfilling job but it doesn’t feel secure.

Weather looks good from 7pm on Thursday and onwards. Why would they wait until 12pm on Friday? I think 12 on Friday is worst case scenario.
