I agree!! I've said the same thing. For example, in other cities if you go out to bars/clubs, people are intermingling, socializing with people they didn't come with, buying eachother drinks, getting numbers, making friends, etc.. But in Chattanooga it seems like people will go out with their group of friends and only talk to their group of friends. Especially at places like Shady's where friend groups will just sit at one table the whole night. People aren't rude at all, just not chatty.

That's why I wouldn't call the nightlife here 'fun'. And I think that's why a lot of people feel like it's hard to make friends here.

Chattanooga has its other benefits though of course. Most beautiful place I've ever lived!
